Also Jim Carrey will join R.E.M.'s lead singer, Michael Stipe, in "This Friendly World," one of Man on the Moon's soundtrack songs. Carrey also appears on the album doing a skit from the film "Rosemarie." The album, produced by Pat McCarthy, will contain a total of 15 tracks and will be available in stores on November, 23. Man on the Moon might not be the only feature treatment that centers on the late Andy Kaufman. Universal and Jersey Films logged over 200 hours of behind-the-scenes footage shot by Lynne Margulies, the quirky comic's girlfriend. The result so fascinated Jersey executives that they want to turn it into a documentary in the vein of "Hearts of Darkness," which chronicled the making of "Apocalypse Now."

Jersey execs hope the documentary would capture the spirit of Kaufman, and how Kaufman's spirit captured Carrey -- who stayed in character before and after director Milos Forman shot scenes. "Lynne filmed every second of every day of shooting, and you never saw Jim as Jim," said a source.

Me, Myself and Irene : Videomaker Magazines' (www.videomaker.com) editor Larry Lemm sent this e-mail to us. The e-mail is about the latest Jim Carrey film Me, Myself and Irene. Here is the e-mail

I was poking around your site looking for news on the De Niro Film "15 Minutes" (the magazine I work for signed a release to have the magazine in "some De Niro movie where he plays a camcorder wielding detective"), and saw that you have a Jim Carrey section.

While I'm not much of a Jim Carrey fan, I am a fan of the band Phish. There was recently a big closing party for the cast and crew at Phish Guitar Player Trey Anastasio's barn, and Jim joined the band for a couple of songs.

Here is the setlist from http://www.phish.net/tour/#19990624 :

The 5th Ball - Summer Tour Rehearsal, with Jim Carrey 06/24/99 The Fifth Ball (a.k.a. Carreystock) - Trey's Barn - near Burlington, VT

I: Farmhouse, Moma Dance, Hey You*#, The Meatstick > Come Together*

II: Get Back on the Train, Windora Bug, Dirt, Twist > Jam, Bug, Saw It Again, Rock-A-William

* - with Jim Carrey on vocals

# - by Bachman Turner Overdrive

From Julia's post to rec.music.phish:

"Private show at Trey's barn - a mix between some Phish pholk, and the filming crew of Jim Carrey's newest movie, which is being filmed in Burlington. This is the same Jim Carrey that was in Truman Show, Ace Ventura, etc.. Mike, of course, had the grand idea of pulling together music and film, and everyone, film crew especially, had a great time." Thanks to Kevin Monty, as well as Julia Mordaunt for her post to rec.music.phish, Phillip Zerbo for confirmation, and "Margaret" for additional notes.
