American Beauty : Kevin Spacey-Annette Bening starrer film is about a man in his 40's (Spacey) whose midlife crisis time comes and tries to remake himself like he was when he was a teenager.

Brad PittFight Club : David Finchers' new thriller's full trailer is available now. The pic stars Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter. The film is about two young men (Pitt, Norton). They start a secret club that gives young urban professionals the chance to beat the living crap out of each other. Everything goes great until mutual interest in the same woman (Carter) comes between them....... Get Quicktime 4 for new trailers.

Hefner Biopic : Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is told People Magazine that he will decide which actor to play his life in the upcoming biopic of himself. Currently the two actors on Hefner's mind are Nicolas Cage and Rupert Everett. But it's reported that Everett has the edge. If a deal is made, It wiil be interesting to see the openly gay actor Everett in such a role. The casting begin for Barbi Benton who was the Playmate and one of Hefner's most serious girlfriends.

Teaching Mrs. Tingle : Scream writer Kevin Williamson's directing debuts' official site opened. Pic is about a student-Leigh Ann who is a very succesfull in all lessons except history which Mrs. Tingle teaches. The only person in Leigh Ann's way is her class rival MaryBeth Carter. One day Leigh Ann has her friend Luke steal the history test, which will boost her grade up. Luke is caught by Mrs. Tingle and Mrs. Tingle reports it to the principal. Luckily, the principal is not there that day so before she can tell him tomorrow, Luke and Leigh Ann knock her out. They take her back to there place and tie her up. The original title was Killing Mrs. Tingle but it was was changed to Teaching Mrs. Tingle because of the April 1999 shooting incident at Columbine High School incident in Littleton, Colorado.

Girl in the Curl : Jennifer Love Hewitt (I Know What You Did Last Summer) is in final talks to star in Girl in the Curl. The film, which is expected to shoot in the spring, is a romantic comedy-drama about a young woman who falls in love with surfing while trying to come to terms with the death of her brother. No director is now attached to the project.

The Talented Mr. Ripley : Anthony Minghella's (The English Patient) latest film which stars Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law (Music From Another Room) and Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth). Official site has released the trailers for the film. A young American, Mr. Ripley (Damon), is hired to entice a wealthy young playboy living in Italy (Law) to come back to his family in the States. But he begins to become more and more like the young man he was paid to find, and this progression has remarkably strange results... Get Quicktime 4 for new trailers.

Adam SandlerLittle Nicky : Adam Sandler will star in Little Nicky which Steven Brill will direct. The movie has a lot of members from the Big Daddy team including Robert Simonds and Jack Giarraputo. The script is written by Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihly. The movie which is scheduled to start in October centers on a father who wants his son to take over the family business, but the son is reluctant because his dad is the devil.

The Beach : USA Today reports that Leonardo DiCaprio starrer The Beach's release date has been moved back until early 2000. The movie is about an American abroad who finds trouble in an island paradise. Fox executive Tom Sherak told USA Today "This is a film with tremendous commercial potential, and we made our decision based on the best time for the film to reach the largest audience". The script is based on a novel by Alex Garland.

Sprockets : Mike Myers has signed a two-picture deal with Universal. The first movie will be named Sprockets and Myers will get $20 million for the role. Myers had been writing the script for some time. The film is based on the character he created in numerous ``Saturday Night Live'' skits: German movie critic/talkshow host. The producers are Ed Decter and John J. Strauss. By the way it is reported that Myers is talking with New Line about a third Austin Powers movie.

Dr. T and the Women : Helen Hunt is closing to sign a deal to star with Richard Gere in Dr. T and the Women. The comedy concerns a midlife crisis-suffering gynecologist (Gere) who mixes stirrups with lifestyle stir-ups as he becomes entangled with the many women in his life. Hunt will play a woman with whom he has an extramarital affair. The director is Robert Altman. Liv Tyler is in discussions to take a part in the film. The shooting begins in November in Dallas.

Bait : A week after Stephen Surjik (Wayne's World 2) left the project Bait which he will direct, now the film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua (The Replacement Killers). Surjik has left the production because of creative differences with star Jamie Foxx. Also Kris Kristofferson is attached to the film thatis about an unwitting man (played by Foxx) who is used by police as bait to draw out a wily career criminal.

Famke JanssenX-Men : According to Variety, Famke Janssen (Goldeneye, The Faculty) will play the role of Jean Grey in X-Men. Grey is a character that supports mutant rights and will attract the interest of Wolverine, though she is involved with Cyclops which is role yet uncast.

Red Planet : The sci-fi movie formerly named Mars and stars Val Kilmer, Carrie Anne-Moss, and Tom Sizemore has now been renamed to Red Planet. There's been some confusion with another movie named Mission to Mars.

Kate Winslet : Kate Winslet has refused to play the in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. New Line exec Michael De Luca has quoted that " Winslet's unavailable, I'm afraid. I think she passed on the project due to the length of time it takes." He also added that a full cast list will be released next month. According to Hollywood Reporter a 26-year-old Irish actor named Stuart Townsend will play the role of Aragorn in The Lord of The Rings trilogy. The three movies will be shot back to back in New Zeland which will require a continuous 18 months.

Halloween H2K - Evil Never Dies : The official Halloween website reported that the current working title for the next movie in the Halloween series is HALLOWEEN H2K - EVIL NEVER DIES. Several writers are are currently writing the script. The movie will be shot in Salt Lake City and released in Fall 2000.

CoppolaSupernova : Francis Ford Coppola has become the latest director to turn his attention to saving the troubled project Supernova. The sci-fi thriller, which  costs at least $60 million, has been waiting on the shelf since wrapping principal photography in July 1998. The picture has already been through at least two directors, Geoffrey Wright and Walter Hill. The film  stars James Spader, Vincent D'Onofrio, Lou Diamond Philips, Angela Basset and Robert Forster.

Delivering Milo : Bridget Fonda (Jackie Brown, It Could Happen to You) is in talks to star in Delivering Milo. Nick Castle (Mr. Wrong) is directing the film that  Albert Finney also negotiating to star. The pic is about a young boy in heaven waiting to be born. After the boy refuses an earthly existence, an angel shows the heavenly lad the value of life.

Band of Brothers : Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are colobrating in Prague this week for the HBO/DreamWorks miniseries Band of Brothers. The film is based on a non-fiction war history. The are now serve as co-producers and co-directors.

Survivors :  Mark Rydell will direct Survivors which is  a period drama that stars Alfred Molina (Boogie Nights), Sean Penn and Diane Lane. Survivors centers on a  gangster Mickey Cohen (Molina) and an unusual love triangle. Cohen hires a Hollywood writer (Penn) to come up with comic material for him, but when the writer falls in love with Cohen's girlfriend (Lane), the gangster no longer finds his gag writer to be very funny.

Double Jeopardy : Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones starrer films' Official Site has opened. Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) will direct the film which is about a a woman (Judd) who is convicted of murdering her husband and sentenced to jail where she soon learns he's alive and set her up. After she released , she sets out to find him because she's now free to go kill him and no-one can do anything about it.

The X-FilesRiptide : Rob Bowman, the director of the movie The X-Files will helm Riptide. The film centers on a surgeon who joins a professional treasure hunter on his family's island. They search for an ominous water pit, a 60-foot-diameter hole dug down to the water table which contains brutal currents that has claimed the lives of numerous adventurers, including the surgeon's father. All those who perished tried to penetrate the pit to recover a rumored pirate's treasure believed to contain about $2 billion worth of jewels and gold. The surgeon also gets to work on his operating technique, as a romance is part of the adventure. Fox will start the film into production early next year. The film originated from a novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

Happy Campers : Brad Renfro (Apt Pupil) and Dominique Swain (Lolita) will star in Happy Campers which is set to shoot this fall in North Carolina. The comedy is about a group of college freshmen who spend a summer as camp counselors. When their tyrannical camp director is accidentally put out of commission, the counselors decide to spice up the camp's monotonous daily activities. Script writer Daniel Waters (Heathers,Batman Returns) will direct the film from his own script.

Me Myself and IreneMe, Myself and Irene : New pictures taken at the Go-Go Gas Station in Essex, VT from the Jim Carrey& Renee Zellweger starrer movie, Me, Myself and Irene. The film is Peter and Bobby Farrelly's next comedy film Me, Myself and Irene. Carrey will play a Rhode Island state trooper with a split personality. When he fails to take his medication, each of his competing personalities falls in love with the same woman (Irene), and with his internal chemistry now in tumult, they declare war on each other. The first three pictures are from the set at the Go-Go Gas Station in Essex, VT, Pic1, Pic 2, Pic3 and the fourth is the pic, featured in July 27's edition of the National Enquirer, shows a fight between both of Jim Carrey's characters (Charlie and Hank,) during one of the movie's most important scenes Pic 4. Box-Office Top Ten : Below is the box office figures for the weekend. The Sixth Sense, the Bruce Willis thriller knocked off The Fugitive, which took in $23.7 million in 1993, Sense collected $25.8 million to make it the highest-grossing movie ever to open in August.
