Home brew is defined as "an alcoholic beverage, especially beer, that is made at home". But there is something else brewed locally that is just as intoxicating ... ... Australian Music. HOME BREW is exactly that ... 100% Australian music, 100% of the time. Not limited to any specific genre, HOME BREW includes pop, rock, dance, folk, alternative, jazz, metal, blues, and all the styles that bridge the gaps in between. HOME BREW is committed to the airplay and promotion of 100% home brewed music from all over the nation. From mainstream to alternative to unsigned, HOME BREW has it all. And the best thing is that HOME BREW is 100% totally independent - we play what sounds good, not what the current trend says is chic. Produced and presented by Phil "BROMMERS" Bromley and Craig "COWPS" Cowper, the duo are dedicated to the growth and exposure of Australian music. The show started out in 2000 on community radio station Triple H 100.1FM in Sydney. Following enormous development and success of the show, it started broadcasting in July 2003 to approximately 150 community radio stations nationally, via the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia's (CBAA) community radio satellite (ComRadSat). The show also features segments such as the "Cracker Track", along with specials like the blues-based "Slide Night", the "Home Brew Ha Ha" and "Rockin Round Oz" as well as: - the latest news in the Australian industry - CD reviews, gig and tour information; - interviews with Australian artists (previously included George, Spiderbait, The Butterfly Effect, Jeff Lang, Mick Hart, Subsonic Symphonee, Brett Hunt, Welter; Diesel, d Henry Fenton, The Drugs and Cog) - live studio performances; and - industry expert advice on recording, marketing and increasing artists' exposure in Australia. Regular special guests on the show include former Universal Records A&R Manager, Peter Billing, giving his advice to budding artists. Also joining HOME BREW regularly is Pete Gill, recording engineer extraordinaire, bringing to the show over 20 years experience in radio and live music, to engineer and record the sounds of HOME BREW's live artists. The recording of these live performances has drawn interest from the record industry, so stay tuned for the first HOME BREW Live Compilation CD. HOME BREW is also a proud supporter of AMRAP, the Australian Music Radio Airplay Project, funded by the Australi Council and coordinated by the fine team at the CBAA.
