You may want to place these CONSTRICTION TIPS in a loose leaf binder to keep them handy and protect them.

The success of this project requires the accurate assembly of a large number of  small pieces. To do this will require  accurate assembly fixtures. These fixtures will be produced as the project progresses.

Assembly fixture (AF-1) will provide the main work surface and master alignment fixture for the project.

Select lumber that is flat and streight and fairly dry and less apt to warp over time. If the fixture warps too much over time, replace it.

Both main boards must be the exact same thickness. I suggest cutting both from the same long piece of lumber.

The ends of the fixture must be absolutely square. If this means cutting off an inch or 2 to get it square that is OK.

DATUM LINE: A line or lines established as a reference for making measurements that relate to each other.  The top of this page and the left edge are "Datem lines'' for defining the location of text on this page.

The edges of  AF-1 serve as the main datum lines for all assembly operations..

AF-1 and a carpenters square are the main tools used to align parts for assembly on this project.

Lots of luck.
