The first thing we did was a little practice welding on 1 x 1 square tube.

Here's the main frame assembly.  You can see where we added additional support under the seat.

This is a fixture Sam designed so we could weld precise A arms.  Note the Heim joint which is used in the upper A arm.  The flat plate in the picture is used as a spacer only and not welded, as is the middle 7" piece of pipe.  The wood tended to catch fire, so we tack welded and then removed from the fixture, and kept water on hand.  We also learned to weld outside only - the garage quickly filled with smoke.
