ASSEMBLY FIXTURE, FORWARD FRAME ASSEMBLY AF-2-1 REV-A Select a two foot section of 2 by 6 that is flat and has clear sides. A 2 by 6 is not 6in wide but that is OK. Cut two lengths 6.5in. long. (plus or minus 1/8 inch) Accutately align the long edges and glue and clamp the two pieces together to form a 6 by 6.5 by 3 block. See AF-2 DO NOT use screws for assembly. The resulting block should be 3 in. thick. If the block is not 3 in thick, (plus or minus 1/16 inch), take it to a cabinet shop and have it planed down. Cabinet shops DO NOT like sending screws through the planer. The critical dimention of this fixture is the 3 in. thickness. Mark the best long dimention side as "SIDE A" in large letters On the top surface, ½ in. in from the edge of the long side (SIDE A), mark a reference line. Ball point makes a good marker for this. See AF-2 Invert the fixture and mark a reference line 1 ½ in. in from SIDE A. Select a clear ( no knots ) piece of 1 by 4 and cut 2 pieces 6in long. Drill 2 1/8 inch holes as shown on AF-2 This completes construction of AF-2. Store the fixture and use it for assembly of the forward frame assembly. |
