Comments: In 1997 me and my son lost our home and found ourselves living in a shelter. From August 1997 to November 1998 we remained homeless unable to get out of our dilemma. Finally I was forced to leave my home (Toronto) to search for Housing in Kingston. The horrors and abuses of being homeless for over a year still plague me.... My experiences have transformed me and I advocate as much as possible for the (hopefully) prevention of homelessness. I am currently in the process of attempting to develop an Association here in Kingston to help thwart evictions. I would be pleased to join forces with your Committee and work together on these issues. Please feel free to e-mail at anytime.
Comments: Keep up this important work, Bonnie. Many thanks. Jack
Comments: You have many supporters. I am glad you have spoken about these attrocities.
Comments: God bless you people
Comments: I used to be homeless. Technically I still am. but I got a place to stay temporarily, and I have a job. I am 20 years old, and was a street kid until I outgrew the label. Now I'm just a street person, I guess. Please go see my web page, it is about homele sness and other social issues, as seen from the view point of a person whos experienced them.
Comments: I am a new social worker very interested in the area of homelessness. I am looking at many sites on the internet to learn all I can, and found your site to be a good resource to know what is going on and what groups are active. My only comment is that th march on June 15 does not say the year. Is this coming up in 2000, or did it already take place? I am interested in getting involved.
Comments: HOW ARE PEOPLE SUPPOSE TO LIVE IN TODAYS SOCIETY WHEN THE AVERAGE PERSON IS ONLY MAKING $5.00-$6.00 AN HOUR WHEN IT COSTS THE AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD A WAGE OF $12.00 AN HOUR TO SURVIVE? WE NEED TO CUT THE GOVERMENTS WAGES AND INCREASE HOURLY WAGES. WE NEED TO STOP DOWNSIZING COMPANIES THAT THE EMPLOYEES SPENT YEARS GOING TO SCHOOL TO GET THE EDUCATION AND FIND OUT IT WAS A WASTE OF THEIR TIME BECAUSE THE EMPLOYER BECAME GREEDY. THE RICH NEED TO LEARN THEY CAN'T TAKE IT WITH THEM WHEN GOD CALLS THEM OME. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A U-HAUL BEING PULLED BY A HEARSE? PLEASE JUST A FEW CENTS A DAY COULD MEAN THE WORLD TO A HOMELESS PERSON. NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO BE HOME LESS WOULD YOU? ONE PERSON DOESN"T WIN THE GAME IT TAKES A WHOLE TEAM. MAY YOU WALK WITH GODS ANGELS DOWN LIFE'S DUSTY HIGHWAY. PLEASE VISIT OUR SITE! http://helpforthehomeless.homestead.com/homeless.html
Comments: Because the names of the homeless victims who died are no always available, dramatize the visuals and tell it aa a story with ficticiously named characters, even though the potrayal may coincide with the factual account. I would like to be involved in a p oduction of this nature.
| Comments: I really appreciated your site and wish I could be so talented But I guess I will have to praise yours and others ..But the main thing is we are all in this fight to save human life not to see it destroyed by apathy or compassionate liars! | Comments: sorry, i see individuals in crisis, not a crisis of general homelessness. shut the shelters and start educating. homeless folk should sleep in public buildings that we all own. our taxes built em and for most of the 24 hour days they're heated and empty. |

Comments: I feel that to be homeless would be the worst feeling in the world people treating you like dirt not many people seem to care teenagers today are more worried about the new movies and shit like that but if we all started to worry about the things that really matter this world would be a better place.

Comments: Homelessness has become one of the most important issues of our time in Canada. Historically nations that have failed to care for the most vulnerable members of their society have failed and been overrun or overthrown. Canada has no excuse for the unacc ptable levels of poverty and greed that we are currently witnessing other than that of ignorance on the part of the voting public. A massive education intiative needs to be developed that will inform people (voters) about the dangers of allowing the gove nments' callous attacks on the poor to continue. History has a way of repeating itself.
Comments: Buy those gift coupon booklets from MacDonalds and Burger King (the coupons good for free meals and items) and hand those out to homeless folks you meet.
Comments: I THINK THAT THE WEB PAGE HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL. IT HAS THE ABILITY TO PRESENT VAST AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION WHICH WILL HELP PEOPLE TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING OF HOMELESS ISSUES.
Comments: Awesome site. We live in Kensington Market, where an elderly man died last winter living outdoors next to us. We spent as much time with him as we could, and were sad to see him go so silently. Your site will help remember people like him. Thanks, and kee up the good work. Sue
