Grandma
We wanted your suffering to end,
to see a smile upon your face.
We knew this meant you'd have to go;
Our presence you'd no longer grace.

But we loved you too much
to let you live on in pain.
So we let you move on
to where you had so much to gain.

You'd see loved ones gone before,
rejoice in faces long unseen.
Be out of pain and misery,
And seek new pastures green.

But I know that you're still here,
smiling down on us everyone.
Your special kind of love,
will never really be undone.

Hearts On A Breeze
Two Hearts, floating
on a breeze,
Entertwine & bind in
a love that's as beautiful & pure
as freshly-fallen snow.

Love
Love is like a blanket,
warm and secure and soft
and gentle.
When love begins, it
makes you feel happy
and secure.
Then, when love leaves,
you feel cold, vulnerable
and alone.
Love envelopes you in
comfort and allows you
to open up.
If you open up completely
and love remains, it
will last forever.
But if honesty frightens
away love, then it
wasn't there.
Sometimes love is an
illusion, a mere image
of who you need.
True love will wrap
around you and remain
there through an unending
winter.

To A Friend
"Life goes on,"
We always say,
I know it's hard
But try anyway.

Love is painful
And life is tough,
But I'm still here
When things are rough.

I'll dry your tears
And make you smile.
I'll help you forget
Your pain for awhile.

One day soon
I know you'll find
A love who'll last,
Be gentle and kind.

For now, however,
You must not forget
That I'm your friend,
The best you'll get.

Smile, Laugh and Love
When you died, there were so many tears.
Oh, the grief we felt at your loss.
Anyone who knew and loved you went
through the normal stages; denial, grief,
and finally, acceptance. You were some-
one we never thought we'd have to live
withough. Nor did we want to. We had
smiled, laughed and loved together, and
now you are gone. Meanwhile, those of
left behind must smile, laugh and love
together, but without you. There is no
one who can fill the gap your death left
us with. Eventually, we will be together
for all eternity, but for now, we must
move on. Nothing will take away the pain
of losing you, but this thought eases our
pain, and allows us to smile, laugh...
LOVE...

Shallow
You have set me free,
Of this there is no doubt.
But you're the one
Who is losing out.

My gift of love to you
It was so freely given.
You became my life,
My sole reason for living.

You rejected it, and me;
So shallow were your reasons.
You're the one without someone
To love you through the seasons.

Your feelings were not true,
I know that I am right.
Because it takes more than beauty
To warm you late at night.

When real feelings are involved
And it comes from in your heart
You will feel it in your soul.
True love can be a work of art.

Father
From the first, you stood by me.
When I'd fall and scrape my knee.

You taught me how to ride a bike,
Were patient with boys you didn't like.

You were there when I learned to drive;
Wondering if we'd ever survive!

Through every tear, mistake and fight,
It often turned out you were right.

From you I learned my lesson well,
And with your guidance, I will not fail.

War...
We fight a battle not our own
And yet we do not stand alone.

Men & women, some young, some old
Proudly serve, protect and uphold

Our country, the land of the free
To make it safe for you and for me.

Innocent kill, innocent die!
The time of truth is drawing nigh.

Is this the beginning of the end?
Are we fighting a war no one will win?

God is the only one who can decide...
In Him we must allow our faith abide.
