Update: July 29th, 2005
2005 has started out to be fantastic. I was awarded the Woman of the Year award from WWAUS. I am so honored to have been given that. But with this great honor, shortly afterwards, I lost a great friend, and one of the Founders of Women With A Unique Soul (WWAUS). In February, my friend, Claudia, lost her long term battle with COPD, and Diabetes. It was quite devestating for me, as I had met CLaudia when I went out to California. And a little over a week later, we lost another memeber with COPD. Quite suddenly. Again....I was shocked, as I had talked to Jenoka right after Claudia's passing and she seemed fine. During this time, one of our other Founders, Peaches, found out she had cancer. It was in her lungs, and had spread to her brain. This was all, too much! Peaches went through Radiation, and it looked like she was getting better, but then....she got worse. I went and saw her a few weeks before she passed. We had a good time together, though she was so very tired. I knew in my heart, that this would be the last time I would see her. I told her I loved her, and kissed her forehead, then left to go back home to Arkansas. Peaches (Bonnie) passed away in the first week of May.
I will miss my friends, terribly!!
During this sadness, I was asked to become a co-founder of WWAUS. I was very honored, though I couldn't help the sadness that I felt over the loss of my friends. But I fell into my duties and started to get to work in updating the website for the group. Our group, bring so much love and happiness to me. They are all my second family.
My son, Kyle, was assigned to the 2/4, and was deployed. I can't tell you where, but he is not in a hot zone, this time. Hopefully he will be coming home at the end of the year. But with the Marines, you never know....lol.
Brianna's softball team won second place in the team tournament. We found out that she is a natural as a catcher. She did pretty good for this being her first time playing ball. We all had a blast, and she wants to do it again, next year.
My brother, Matt, and his wife, Wendy, will be moving from Missouri in August, to a house in Oklahoma. She is going to the University, to become a Pharmacist. They are excited and can't wait to move.
I won Site of the Week for July 24th, and that has me really excited!! Means I had to update my site, too....lol. That is alright. I had put it off, too long.
But I am so honored to have won this award for my little 'ol site.
Other than missing my son a lot, we are all doing fine. I can't wait for school to start, though. Brianna is driving me nuts....lol.
Take care everyone, and God Bless.
