HOPE LODGE # 19
History
of
Hope Lodge No. 19
In
1881, thirteen upright regular men who were worthy and well qualified and of
good repute and well recommended conceived Free masonry in their hearts and
petitioned the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of the state of Florida, for
membership and was chartered on October 19, 1881. The Grand Lodge officers whose
names appear on the charter are as follows: Grand Master Tillman Valentine,
Deputy Grand Master Benjamin Dilworth, Grand Senior Warden R. J. Smith, Grand
Junior Warden G. N. Smith.
The
lodge was first located at 319 Brigadier Street in Warrington, Florida. Then
moved to St. John Lodge No. 189 located at 2560 North Davis Highway where they
met for numerous years and presently meet at Excelsior Lodge No. 43 located at
704 North A. Street, Pensacola, Fl. 32501. The past Master’s of Hope Lodge No.
19 are as follows: Earm White, Lawrence Holly, Albert Ballard, Dave Andrews, Doc
Choice, Jame R. Milton 32o, Edward E. Mitchell 33o,
Aldophus Savage 32o, Raymond Jones 32o, Kiaser Roberson 32o,
Kevin Fortune 32o, Pearlie Graves, Jr. 32o, Ronnie Cole 32o,
Freddie Hogan, Earnest Daniels 32o, Kenneth Roberts Sr. 32o, Earnest Daniels 32o, Louis Gaiter, Ronnie Cole 32o.
The
current Master and officers are Bro Gregory Dorsey,
Worshipful Master, Bro Canary Williams, Senior Warden, Bro Maurice Jones, Junior Warden, Bro Eric Thomas, Treasurer, Bro Kerry Polingo,
Secretary. Under
the present leadership, the brethren of Hope lodge are growing spiritually and
collectively, they are striving to be living stones in that building not made by
hand but eternal in the heavens.
