Martha is the daughter of James Groves and Rosannah Taylor, you can see Martha's ancestry HERE
She is the Grandaughter of Peter and Martha.
Martha and Samuel married in Richmond, NSW in 1862, and had three children whilst farming in the Hawkesbury area.
In 1868, Samuel agreed (with two others - Tom Lake and J Giddens) to undertake a contract to enclose Mouraby Station, which was in the St George area of Queensland, on the Balonne River with a fence for Richard Skuthorpe. So the whole family moved to "the Balonne".
The plan was to stay in Queensland a few years and then return to the Hawkesbury area.  Year after year went by and none of them ever went back (even for a short visit) to the Hawkesbury.
The Mouraby Station Fencing Contract took two years to complete, so in 1870, Samuel and Martha went to live on Old Yamburgan, which was at the time an out-station of Doondi, which was South of St George in Queensland.
Three more children were born in this area to complete the family.
The information about Samuel and Martha's movements came from Samuel's Obituary which was printed in the Balonne Beacon. This Obituary was kindly supplied by Phyllis Zirbel, the Great Grandaughter of Samuel and Martha.
