Daniel was 19 years old when he was tried in Northampton, England on the 23rd July 1816. He was convicted, found guilty, and sentenced to death for stealing a lamb. He was reprieved before the judge left town and sentenced to Transportation to Australia for Life. He was convicted with his brother William and a Thomas Warwick or Barber. He left England on the 18th December 1816 on board the "Morley (1)", they arrived in Sydney Cove on the 10th April 1817. The Master of the ship was Rbt R Brown, the Surgeon was Rbt Espie. The ship left with 175 males on board and arrived with the same amount.

(Elizabeth Rebecca Furness has also been described as being Jewish by some descendants. As it has not been recorded in the Convict Indents or other official documentation that I have so far sighted, it is yet to be confirmed)
Rebecca was 18 years old when she was tried in the Norwich City  Assizes, Norfolk on the 30th July 1822  She was indicted for breaking into the Dwelling-house of Elizabeth Daynes, in the day time, on the 26th January, and stealing several articles of her property. She was found guilty and sentenced to death. She was reprieved and then sentenced to transportation to Australia for Life.
Rebecca was also indicted with Mary Callow, for stealing from the lodging of Robert Murrell, Cotton; Gowns; Tabelcloths; and other articles of his property. She was found Guilty again. She left England on the 10th June 1823 on board the "Mary Ann III", they arrived in Sydney Cove on the 18th October 1823. The Master of the ship was J F Steel, and the Surgeon was Harman Cochrane. The ship left with 127 Females on board. Of the 126 that arrived in Australia, 59 disembarked in Sydney and 67 in Hobart .
