SUSANNAH RILEY
Great Grandmother of Susannah Riley, the wife of William Thomas Hornery (later known as Honnery).
Susannah was convicted for stealing 10 muslin handkerchiefs from an Anthony Twedall. She was sentenced to 7 years Transportation to Australia.
She was delivered to the ship from Newgate Prison and left England on the 31st March 1792 on board the "Kitty". Soon after departure, the Kitty sprung a leak and had to return to Spithead for repairs. On the 6th April, 1792, the Kitty again left England from Portsmouth. They arrived in Sydney Cove on the 18th November 1792. The Master of the ship was George Ramsay, and the Surgeon was J.P. Niebuhr. The ship left with 10 Males and 30  Females on board and arrived with 2 Males (8 escaped) and 27 Females on board. See more information on the voyage of the "Kitty" below.

Susannah Nairn married Edward Riley in 1782 and they had a son Thomas. She was convicted in October 1791 and imprisoned in Newgate Prison until transportation began in March 1792. During the voyage to Port Jackson (March to November 1792), Susannah gave birth to a son John Riley, the father of whom was not recorded.
THE VOYAGE OF THE "KITTY"

The "Kitty" was built at Sunderland, England in 1787. It was an ordinary 363 ton merchant ship. The "Kitty" left England on the 31st March 1792. Soon after departure, the Kitty sprung a leak and had to return to Spithead for repairs. On the 6th April, 1792, the Kitty again left England from Portsmouth. At Rio, repairs were again effected and she departed Rio 31st July. Further repairs were again required at the Cape and the "Kitty" finally departed that port on the 10th Spetember, making a leisurely run to Port Jackson, arriving on the 18th November 1792. It was a journey of 8 months.

Grandmother of Elizabeth Craft, the wife of Bernard Benjamin Horney (later known as Hornry-Ford).
Elizabeth's crime was not specified on the Convict Indents.
She left England on the 31st March 1792 on board the "Kitty". Soon after departure, the Kitty sprung a leak and had to return to Spithead for repairs. On the 6th April, 1792, the Kitty again left England from Portsmouth. They arrived in Sydney Cove on the 18th November 1792. The Master of the ship was George Ramsay, and the Surgeon was J.P. Grandfather of Elizabeth Craft, the wife of Bernard Benjamin Horney (later known as Hornry-Ford).

Samuel was 19 when he was sentenced to Death and then 7 years transportation.
He left Plymouth, England on the 27th March 1791 on board the "Salamader" of the Third Fleet. They arrived in Sydney Cove on the 21st August 1791. The Master of the ship was J? Nichol. The ship left with 160 Males on board and arrived with 155 Males.
