Shin Yoon Bok. (1758 - ? ) Painter.

It is unclear when he was born and died, but he was certainly influenced by Kim Hong Do.
He invented his own style from his study of paintings of Kim Hong Do, and He became the master of Korean painting after Kim Hong do. In his life, he was famous for depicting the life of peasants. He left his greats works for the last centuries, but it is almost unknown about his life. He wasnĄ¯t following the main current in his society; it was hierarchy society, in which most of painters involved with high class, and the theme of their painting was limited such as a landscape and the Four Gracious plants (plum, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo.) He was interested in the life of peasants, and especially in the life of women in his contemporary.
He liked to fill his drawing with daily life events of peasants such as rural scenery and life.
He also painted the life of high class as well as peasantĄ¯s. In his those painting, the lower class always appears as fellow women or Kisaeng (a singing and dancing girl.)
He also left many of obscene paintings.
