Chapter 1 |
An angel. That's what she seemed to be. She'd come to him in his dreams when times were rough and some as well when they were joyous but she always seem to know when he needed her. That particular night he furiuosly tossed and turned and there she appeared. He knew this woman's face and he would speak of her aloud as though they were lovers. The soft, billowing skirts surrounding her tiny waist, the bold coloring drawing out the milkiness of her complexion were vaguely familiar to him and he never seemed to be able to shake the images; especially hers. Only in his dreams did she appear to him with her childlike innocence. Her hair was spun of gold and piled into curls on the top of her head. In his dreams he could smell the sweet scent of lavendar flowing throughout it. Her big blue eyes reminded him of a clear summer's sky and could light up the darkest of days. She didn't say much. She just appeared and disappeared from his dreams. Who was she? Where did she come from? Do I know her? he awoke; the night's sky still filtering it's soft light through the sheer curtains softly blowing against the summer's breeze. He returned to his restless slumber only to be awoken by the soft utterance of a hauntingly familiar name. "Colin,"her voice softly sifted into his ears. He turned the bedside lamp on and surveyed the room. Had he gone crazy? He was alone but the voice was as clear as day. He returned to his restless state once again finally settling into a deep sleep when he heard the voice again. "Colin,"her voice interrupted his slumber once again. He searched the room to find the vision of lovliness standing in the far corner of his bedroom. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief hoping he might still be dreaming but there she stood plain as day smiling at him with that childlike innocence and lighting the darkened room with those big blue eyes. He shook his head once again and she was gone. She disappeared into thin air. This can't be happening to me. I'm not going crazy. She's not real. You're still dreaming. Then why does she feel so real? |
