Here we've turned the cab on it's "back" to work on the bottom. There were several places that were rusted through. I filled and fiberglassed them and will paint the floorboards with POR-15. |
The next day and the cab has been completely sand blasted and sprayed with a coat of phosphoric acid. This neutralizes the rust and leaved a coating the primer really adheres too. |

This is a work trailer that belongs to a friend of mine. He is a welder. He made this by cutting a 1 ton service truck just behind the cab. He fabricated the gooseneck and the platform for his welding gear. Inside is an air compressor that is a 6 cylinder gas engine. It runs on 3 cylinders and the other 3 compress air into a tank. It can maintain 100 psi with the valve wide open. Talk about some sandblasting!! |

This is the cab after applying several coats of epoxy primer. I was assured that with the surface rust problem that this would seal the metal better than an enamel type primer. After some wet sanding - Rangoon Red!! |
