I met Kevin on February 5, 2000 at the Kids in the Hall reunion show in Houston, Texas. But actually, I first saw him the night before in Austin. Even though I met all the Kids over these two days, Kevin was the most memorable. It began at the Austin show when he came out in the AT&Love sketch. Because of where I was sitting, Kevin was on the end of the stage closest to me. It seemed like he was staring at me during a lot of the sketches. Besides that, he seemed like he hadn't changed a bit in five years. When I went to the Houston show, I was there about 3 and a half hours early because I had no idea how long it would take to get there. I was standing in front of the theater and met a girl and her mom who asked me to walk around with them. We went to dinner, and afterwards we walked behind the building where the tour buses were. We found out from some other fans that the Kids had not yet arrived and were supposed to come in a white van, so we decided to wait for them. Finally, the first van came, and Kevin, Bruce, & Mark got out. It seemed as if they were going to walk on inside but we convinced them to come over and sign some autographs and take some pics. Again, Kevin was on the end closest to me, so he was the first of the 3 I met. I asked him to sign a Canadian $5 bill, so he asked me, "Are you Canadian?" I was thirlled by that, but heart broken that I had to say no, and when I did, Kevin teased me, saying,"Oh, well I'm going to have to take this from you then." He seemed so sweet and easy to talk to. I told him I had a pen pal who had given it to me, and he laughed and said,"You have a pen pal." I really didn't say anything to any of the other Kids other than, "Could I get an autograph?" or "Could I get a picture?" because I was honestly very nervous about meeting them. But Kevin didn't make me nervous at all. Then we took a pic together, he stood beside me and put his arm around me. It wasn't much but I was so excited about it because he was the first one to actually touch me. ---------> |

(Elizabeth's story, continued from left column) When I finally saw the picture of us, it turned out that I must have tilted my head towards him or something, even though I didn't realize I was doing it, so in the picture it looks as if we're a lot closer than we actually are, and he looks so happy to be with me! That was the best possible souvenir I could have gotten. I feel very lucky that I got that chance.
