IACCARINO'S PHILOSOPHY

The rain forests and jungles are known yet unknown.  Eventhough there are recognizable shapes and patterns, the sheer abundance and visual complexity of these patterns cause the framework of my preconceived visual biases to collapse. In turn this allows me to perceive alternate patterns, shapes and possibilities.  It is the abundance of real and imaginary visual information that prompts me to form new associations.  A sense of magic and illusion is created by that which is unseen. Mystery is evoked through mood and orchestration.  The intimate and complex rain forests and jungles are prime examples of interrelatedness.

By living in this environment and having the freedom to hear, see and feel my surroundings,it inevitably makes it's translation and evolution into my art work.  It is a heightened sense of awareness that I experience that enables me to depict and share with the viewer a new sensibility.  My paintings speak of natural environments, unaltered by mankind, and cause shifts in the emphasis of "being" and existence.  The rain forests and jungles are ultimate examples of growth, change, abundance and creation.  It is these qualities that allow me to think metaphysically and translate the same in my monumental watercolor paintings.

Many of my watercolors are placed in peaceful settings and touch upon the romantic.  I attribute this to the effect the rain forest has on the innate senses.  Beauty stirs a heightened response of the  senses and elevates the mind to its highest level.  Beauty is that which is most gratifying or revealing.  For many individuals, the constant search for beauty is a common bond that links us together in relation to our world.  This search, for me as an artist, brings about a loving and compassionate creation.

My watercolors in the execution and subject matter pertain to the gentle, creative aspects of mankind and our surroundings, such as the rain forests and jungles of Costa Rica. The rain forests and jungles of Costa Rica posses a natural beauty that let me see life as an interrelatedness of all living things. As a result my creations are intended to elevate the human condition on physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual levels.

REVIEWS

Iaccarino is an internationally recognized artist whose paintings are exhibited in public and private collections worldwide.  Inspired by the magnificence of the tropical rain forests and jungles, his vivid watercolors have received much acclaim for their originality and outstanding artistic merit.

First introduced to the beauty and ecological importance of the rain forests and jungles of Central America in 1981, Iaccarino became intrigued by the vast possibilities for creative expression found there.  After visiting Costa Rica and experiencing these visual concepts first hand, the rain forests and jungles have become a major focal point for this artist.

Immersing himself in the world of tropical rain terrain, Iaccarino is able to convey its sensual aura through watercolor, utilizing his exceptional talents to portray the majestic foliage in all its brilliance and splendor in a medium seldom used for powerful expression.  the vivid colors and bold lines incorporate with subtle shadings and lighting to present a captivating visual effect.

These paintings not only form a group of innovative works that are of major importance in the contemporary art world, they are also serving to focus attention on the plight of the rain forest in danger of becoming only a picture on canvas.  Iaccarino is committed to promoting the cause to preserve this wonderful natural resource through the distribution of his art work.

As the rain forest moves further to the forefront, so will Iaccarino's distinctive watercolor paintings.  Their value as works of art is accentuated by the artist's affinity for the subject that is such an important part of each painting.

Iaccarino is a painter who absorbs the scenes and structures of the world and expresses them with High Renaissance vitality in contemporary works that pulse with life force.

Iaccarino's watercolors dance, sing and live.

Although beauty definitely is an attribute of Iaccarino's paintings, the arts offers much more.  Each of his works is a moment of life - isolated - yet suggestive of the moments before and after.  Each has personality and character.  The Quad-City artist, with a national and international following, doesn't just paint a flower or a chair or a doorway.  He paints their essence.

So alive are Iaccarino's flower and foliage paintings, one expects to see them change before his eyes.  It is as if the artist has caught flowers in the act of blooming.  One is tempted to wait, watch, see if they will fade.

Iaccarino's paintings vibrate with color.  they are busy, a myriad of colors, lines and shapes, seemingly going in every direction, yet under the artist's control.  Control, but within the framework of that freedom the artist must allow his subject matter.

One thinks of a symphony orchestra tuning up.  The various instruments making discordant sounds in different tempos.  the maestro steps up.  Suddenly there is music.  Incredible music.

Before a palette of colors, Iaccarino becomes a maestro.
