What I'm Studying

I'm interested in Ethics, Technology and Public Theology.

John Howard Yoder

William T. Cavanaugh

I did my BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Sociology at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. My honours thesis was: "Seeking a Community of Promise: The Ethico-Political Priority of the Ekklesia in Postmodern Public Theology." It entailed a critical comparison of the work of John Howard Yoder, Oliver O'Donovan and William Cavanaugh, looking at how their respective visions of Christian community related to their understanding of social ethics, public theology or political theology.

Oliver O'Donovan

James Wm. McClendon, Jr.

I’m currently doing my M.Phil at Murdoch University: "Nonfoundationalism, Convictional Communities and the Role of the ‘Doctrine of Creation’ in James Wm. McClendon, Jr., Stanley Hauerwas and their Critics." It is being supervised by Dr Ian Barns at Murdoch and Dr Gordon Preece of Ridley College.

Stanley Hauerwas

Also, I’m currently doing my M.Div through the A.C.T. (Australian College of Theology), previously at Ridley College, Parkville VIC and now at Morling College, Eastwood NSW.

I am planning a Ph.D tentatively titled "Toward a Neo-Anabaptist Theology and Philosophy of Technology and Material Culture."

More detail in "A Theological Project."

Dog and Dogmatics - from the cover of the Journal 'Soundings' I'm always after good articles, papers and books -- any recommendations? Please e-mail me!
