Ministry in Galilee
| Is. 9:1,2 Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is
distressed, as when at first He lightly estemmed the land of
Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward more heavily
oppressed her, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, in
Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the
shadow of death, upon them a light has shined. (NKJV)
| Mt. 4:12-16 Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He
departed to Galilee, and leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt
in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun
and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by
Isaiah the prophet, saying: The land of Zebulun and the land
of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, beyond
the Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who walked in
darkness saw a great light; and upon those who sat in the
region and shadow of death Light has dawned. (NKJV)

As a Prophet | De. 18:15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me
from your midst, from your brethen. Him you shall hear,
according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb
in the day of the assembly, saying 'Let me not hear again
the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire
anymore, lest I die.'(NKJV)
| Jn. 1:45; Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found
Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets,
wrote-Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." (NKJV) Jn. 6:14; Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus
did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into
the world." (NKJV) Acts 3:19-26 "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the
presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who
was preached of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ,
who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive
until the times of restoration of all things, which God has
spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world
began. "For Moses truly said to the fathers, The Lord
your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your
brethen, Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says
to you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will
not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among
the people." (NKJV)

Jesus Christ would have a Prophetic Office | De. 18:15,18 verse 15: "The Lord your God will raise up for you a
Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you
shall hear, (NKJV) verse 18: 'I will raise up for them Prophet like you from
among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth,
and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. (NKJV)
| Mt. 21:11,46; verse 11: So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the
prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." (NKJV)
verse 46: But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they
feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.
(NKJV) Mk. 6:15;Lu. 7:40; And Jesus answered and said to him, "Simon, I have
something to say to you." And he said, "Teacher, say it."
Lu. 9:16,17; Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and
looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and
gave them to the disciples to set before the
multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve
baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
(NKJV) Acts 3:22
"For Moses truly said to the fathers, The Lord your
God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your
brethen. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says
to you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will
not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among
the people." (NKJV)

Will Speak in Parables | Ps. 78:2; I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark
sayings of old, (NKJV) Eze. 20:49 Then I said, "Ah, Lord God! They say of me, 'Does he not
speak parables?'" (NKJV)
| Mt. 13:34,35 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in
parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet,
saying: 'I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter
things which have been kept secret from the foundation of
the world." (NKJV)

As a Priest, like Melchizedek | Ps. 110:4 The Lord has sworn and will not relent, "You are a priest
forever according to the order of Melchizedek." (NKJV)
| He. 5:5,6; So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High
Priest, but it was He who said to Him: You are My Son,
today I have begotten You."As He also says in another
place: "You are a priest forever according to the order
of Melchizedek." (NKJV) He. 6:20; where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus,
having becvome High Priest forever according to the order of
Melchizedek. (NKJV) He. 7:15-17 And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of
Melchizedek, there arises another priest who has come, not
according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according
to the power of an endless life. For He testifies: "You
are a priest forever according to the order of
Melchizedek." (NKJV)

Would be Rejected by the Jews | Is. 8:14; He will be as a sanctuary, but a stone of stumbling and a
rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, as a trap and
a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (NKJV) Isa. 53:3; He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and
acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our
faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
(NKJV)
| Mt. 11:6 "And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.
(NKJV) Mt. 13:57;
So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A
prophet is not without honor except in his own country and
in his own house." (NKJV) Mk. 6:3; "Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother
of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters
here with us?" And they were offended at Him. (NKJV) Jn. 1:11; He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
(NKJV) Ro. 9:32;1 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith,
but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled
at that stumbling stone. (NKJV) Cor. 1:23; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling
block and to the Greeks foolishness, (NKJV) 1 Pe. 2:8 and "The stone of stumbling and a rock of
offense." They stumble being disobedient to the word, to
which they also were appointed. (NKJV)

Characteristics of Christ | Is. 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. (NKJV)
| Lu. 2:52; And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor
with God and men. (NKJV) LU. 4:16-21 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And
as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath
day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the
prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found
the place where it was written: "The Spirit of the Lord
is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel
to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives and recovery to sight to
the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to
preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Then He closed
the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.
And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on
Him. And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is
fulfilled in your hearing." (NKJV)
|
|
Miracles of Christ denied | Isa. 6:9,10 And He said, "Go and tell this people: 'Keep on hearing,
but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'
"Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy,
and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear
with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return
and be healed." (NKJV)
Isa. 53:1
Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of
the Lord been revealed? (NKJV)
|
Jn. 12:37-41
But although He had done so many signs before them, they
did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet
might be fulfilled, which he spoke: "Lord, who has
believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord
been revealed?" Therefore they could not believe because
Isaiah said again: He has blinded their eyes and hardened
their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and
understand with their heart, lest they should turn, so that
I should heal them." Things things Isaiah said when he
saw His glory and spoke of Him. (NKJV)

Hated without Cause |
Ps. 2:2;
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the
rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and
against His Anointed, saying, (NKJV)
Ps. 69:4;
Those who hate me without a cause are more than
the hairs of my head; they are mighty who would
destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully;
though I have stolen nothing, I still must
restore it. (NKJV)
Ps. 109:3-5;
They have also surrounded me with words of
hatred, and fought against me without a cause. In
return for my love they are my accusers, but I give
myself to prayer. Thus they have rewarded me
evil for good, and hatred for my love. (NKJV)
Is. 53:3
He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of
sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as
it were, our faces from Him; He was
despised, and we did not esteem Him. (NKJV)
|
Jn. 15:23-25
"He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had
not done among them the works which no one else
did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen
and also hated both Me and My Father. But this
happened that the word might be fulfilled
which is written in their law, 'They hated Me
without a cause' (NKJV)

Jesus Christ the Cornerstone of our Faith
|
Ps. 118:22;
The stone which the builders rejected has
become the chief cornerstone. (NKJV)
Is. 28:16;
Therefore thus says the Lord God: "Behold I lay
in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a
precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; whoever
believes will not act hastily. (NKJV)
|
Mt. 21:42-44;
Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the
Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone. This was the
Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?
"Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be
taken from you and given to a nation bearing the
fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will
be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind
him to powder." (NKJV)
Acts 4:10-12;
"let it be known to you all, and to all the
people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised
from the dead, by Him this man stands here before
you whole. "This is the 'stone which was
rejected by you builders, which has become the
chief cornerstone.' "Nor is there salvation in
any other, for there is no other name under heaven
given among men by which we must be saved." (NKJV)
Ep. 2:19-22;
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and
foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and
members of the household of God, having been built
on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,
in whom the whole building, being joined together,
grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you
also are being built together for a habitation of
God in the Spirit. (NKJV)
1 Pe. 2:6
Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
"Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone,
elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by
no means be put to shame." (NKJV)

His Triumphal Entry
|
Is. 62:11;
Indeed the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the
world: "Say to the daughter of Zion, surely your
salvation is coming; behold His reward is with Him,
and His work before Him.'" (NKJV)Zec. 9:9
"REjoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O
daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming
to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and
riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
(NKJV)
|
Mt. 21:1-11;
Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, and came
to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus
sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the
village opposite you, and immediately you will find
a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose
them and bring them to Me. And if
anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The
Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will
send them." All this was done that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
"Tell the daughter of Zion, behold, your King is
coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a
colt, the foal of a donkey.'" So the disciples
went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought
the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on
them, and set Him on them. And a very great
multitude spread their garments on the road; others
cut down branches from the trees and spread
them on the road. Then the multitudes who
went before and those who followed cried out,
saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed
is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'
Hosanna in the highest! And when He had come into
Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is
this?" So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the
prophet from Nazareth of Galilee." (NKJV)
Jn. 12:12-15
The next day a great multitude that had come to
the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to
Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out
to meet Him, and cried out: "Hosanna! 'Blessed
is He who comes in the name of the Lord!' The
King of Israel!" Then Jesus, when He had found a
young donkey, sat on it; as it is written: "Fear
not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming,
sitting on a donkey's colt."

Betrayed by a Friend
|
Ps. 41:9
Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted,
who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel
against me.
|
Mt. 26:14-16;
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot,
went to the chief priests and said, "What are you
willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?" And
they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. So
from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
(NKJV)
Mk. 14:10,43-45
verse 10: Then Judas Iscariot, one of the
twelve, went to the chief priests to betry Him to
them. (NKJV)
verses 43-45: And immediately, while He was
still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a
great multitude with swords and clubs, came from
the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying,
"Whomever I kiss, He is the One, take Him and lead
Him away safely." And as soon as He come,
immediately he went up to Him and said to Him,
"Rabbi, Rabbi!" and kissed Him. (NKJV)

Taken as a Thief with Swords and Staves
|
Help me find the scripture
|
Mt. 26:55,56;
In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, "Have
you come out, as against a robber, with swords and
clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in
the temple, and you did not seize Me. But all this
was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might
be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him
and fled. (NKJV)
Lu. 22:52
Then Jesus said to the chief priest, captains of
the temple, and the elders who had come to Him,
"Have you come out, as against a robber, with
swords and clubs?" (NKJV)

Sold for Thirty Pieces of Silver
|
Zec. 11:12,13
Then I said to them, "If it is agreeable to you,
give me my wages; and if not, refrain." So
they weighed out for my wages thirty pieces
of silver. And the Lord said to me, "Throw it to
the potter"-that princely price they set on me. So
I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw
them into the house of the Lord for the potter.
(NKJV)
|
Mt. 26:15;
and said, "What are you willing to give me if I
deliver Him to you?" And they counted out to him
thirty pieces of silver. (NKJV)
Mt. 27:3-10
Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had
been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the
thirty pieces of silver to the chief prists and
elders, saying, "I have sinned by betraying
innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to
us? You see to it!" Then he threw down the pieces
of silver in the temple and departed, and went and
hanged himself. But the chief priests took the
silver pieces and said, "It is not lawful to put
them into the tresury, because they are the price
of blood." And they took counsel and bought with
them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
Therefore that field has been called the Field of
Blood to this day. Then was fulfilled what was
spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And
they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value
of Him who was priced, whom they of the
children of Israel priced, and gave them for the
potter's field, as the Lord directed me."
(NKJV)
