Yuk Yuk's Amateur Night
             Hamilton, ON
Wednesday February 9th 2000
Igloo Harras returns to the Hamilton stage for a second time, and again under the guise of Art Thomas. Two weeks after his stand up debut, Art (Igloo) was back, and had a brand new 5 minute set that was based around his growing up years.

As before, Igloo had a couple beers to calm his nerves (they'd be near his last, he quit drinking on June 20th of that year), and then he hit the stage again!

There were jokes about little kids answering the phone when your calling long distance in the rain, cute stories about his fathers arm trying to tear a strip off him from the drivers seat of the car (Are we there yet?), and little ditties about how his sister was the favorite. Igloo's mother had once remarked, "You know Iggie, parents make all the mistakes on the first child, it would be great if you could just throw that first kid out and start fresh with the second kid!" (Incidently, Igloo was the first born! Makes you feel warm and fuzzy, eh?)

Igloo decided not to make an exit like he did the first time, since another amatuer stole the idea from him! How's that for flattery? Igloo is pretty sure that is was this gig at Hamilton that was hosted by Yuk Yuk's co-founder Donny Coy. Igloo and Donny would meet again 2 1/2 years later!

This second gig went good, but it needed work, and a direction. Igloo was lacking focus, and had to harness his energy into a comedy force to be reckoned with. He had no idea then, but his next gig would be in his hometown, 2 1/2 years later!

Read On, if you dare!
