chapter 3.
-> day of the concert... <-
She didn't know what to wear. She went through her whole closet. She was so eager she would be able to see him again. She finally decided on a nice light green summer skirt with a crisp white blouse on top. She would wear a light green ribbon as a hairband to match. The time finally came when Rai came over and they headed for the concert.
Keita looked at his W-inds. members next to him, Ryuichi and Ryohei. They were all in hair & makeup, getting finishing touches done for their concert in about 2 hours. They were finished and all three came out and warmed up. They did a few more scales and sung part of their songs they were going to perform. Ryuichi walked up to Keita and examined his ear. "Hey Keita, how come you always have that earring on?" Keita was caught off target. "Umm.. well... it has this... special meaning.." "Hey yo! We have some time, how about telling us about it??" Ryuichi cried out. Ryohei, who was practicing his dance moves, suddenly stopped and hopped over to where Keita and Ryuichi were standing. "YEAAA, how about it??! C'mon Keita...!!" Keita lowered his head.. He closed his eyes and thought of the girl.. his girl. He didn't know if he deserved her anymore. It had hurt him so much to leave her, but it wasn't his choice. He had to move, and his parents had given him no chance to meet anyone or say goodbye to any of his friends. He had been meaning to call her, or contact her, or something, but he was so busy with his new sprouting singing career that he never got to. He wondered where she was now... He really wanted to see her again. "Keitaaaaaa, C'monnnnnnnnnnn!!" Both Ryuichi and Ryohei nagged. Keita gave in, "Okay, well... it was last year... and there was this girl..." Keita went on and on until he was finished a while later. But before Ryuichi or Ryohei could comment, it was time to perform. "aww man..." Ryohei mumbled to himself as he went onstage.
Keiko half-dragged Rai to the ticket booth. Rai smiled at her excited face. 'Must be a group she really likes..' he thought. He saw a biggg sign with the group name on it. 'W-inds? hmm... never heard of them.. must be new..' he was thinking to himself. They were allowed in and they were just about to stand in the front, but Keiko stopped walking. She turned pale white and slowly tried to leave. But Rai grabbed her wrist, and stared into her eyes. "Keiko, what's wrong " Keiko just realized something. Keita had left her. That wasn't a symbol of love. 'He probably didn't want to be with me anymore..' She suddenly didn't want to see him. She would be too hurt if he ignored her or didn't remember her. She wanted to leave. Her eyes were full of tears as she frantically tried to loosen the tight grasp on her arm, but she couldn't. Rai stared at her. What was wrong with her? Why was she all of a sudden acting so crazy? She felt the first tear come down. Then another. Rai's eyes turned wide with concern. He immediately loosened the grasp, thinking he was holding her arm too tight, and that was the reason. Keiko wanted someone to hug. She flung onto Rai, linking her arms around his neck. She buried her face in his shirt and silently shed some tears. Rai was in a state of shock. He had thought he would never have been able to hug her. He'd thought wrong. He remained silent until she let go. Keiko looked Rai straight in the eyes. "I don't want to watch the concert." She said firmly but quietly. Rai shook his head and lead her to a place a bit further back in the audience. "Keiko, tell me why. One second you're so excited to see it, the next you're telling me you don't want to? It doesn't make sense." Keiko whispered, "I don't want to see Keita anymore." Rai was shocked. "W-w-hy would you see Keita here?" "He's in the group, Rai. He's in the group.." The lights dimmed.
