Here are some of the plants from the area. I plan to take shots of them during different growing periods (seasons). I also intend to include information about plant identification, edibility and medicinal use. |

A nice picture of foxglove. Even amatures can get lucky sometimes. It has alternate egg to lance shaped leaves, coarsely toothed. The flowers are pink, purple and white and bloom biennially. Foxglove is used by the medical industry for treating heart problems but should not be eaten. |

Thimble Berry has large alternate maple shaped leaves with 3-7 lobes. Flowers are white. It is almost as pervasive as Salmon Berry but not as tasty. The red berries have a fuzzy texture and are very tart. I'm not expecting this will be one of my favorites. |

Salmon Berry has alternate sharply toothed leaves growing in clusters of 3. It has pink to purple flowers which are tasty. The thorns on the branches come off easy and are not too tough to get past. It grows everywhere. It is the first berry to come out and is pretty tasty. They come in both red and yellow. The red tends to be a little sweeter. |

Cattail has alternate, flat, long, narrow leaves. Numorous tiny flowers.. Edible and useful in many crafts. We are making a shelter from it and I've been practicing weaving with it. |
