Home
My tent. We are working on a dome shaped shelter for the winter. We plan to build the foundation out of gravel and wood chips, the frame from vine maple and the walls out of cat tail mats. I'm going to get a wood burning stove to put inside for warmth and cooking.
Straw bale kitchen and fire pit covered with a plastic dome. This is where we do a lot of our cooking and community interactions.
A frame shelter some friends built last year. A friend used to live in it and someone else took residence after he moved out. A frame is not an efficient use of space so we took it down to make room for the dome shelter we are building now.
My Shelter
I'm building a 12 foot shelter to live in. The frame is made from vine maple limbs and most of the covering is cattail bundles. I'm putting some clear plastic on it in a couple of places to let some light in. I'm also installing a wood stove to use for heat and cooking. The floor will be a layer of gravel to let moisture out covered with cedar wood chips. Below are pictures taken during construction.
