He told her his story. She listened, eyes wide. She cried in parts. He grabbed her hands when he was finished.
"I don't ever want to leave you again, Daisy. I love you with all my heart, I do. That was the most terrifying experience of my life. And not just because I was afraid of dying, but because I was afraid I would die without being able to say goodbye to you, and tell you that I love you. Daisy, will you marry me, please?" Tears filled her eyes. She nodded, smiling. They embraced.
It was a month later, and they were married. Happily. Coet worked now on shore, working on the boats. Daisy went back to work as a cook. Cilik slunk back to where he came from. He didn't show up at the wedding.
Something was missing. Daisy had said something before about it. And it was true. Something was missing. Life was somewhat...well...boring. Coet was tired of working on ships. Daisy was tired of cooking for other people, and having them complain. They needed something else. But they both agreed that they were not ready for children.
"Let's go. Let's travel. I know a Dragoner over in the Labyrinth. I'm sure she would be very willing to take us wherever we want to go. She could show us all the different dragons! We could explore different worlds, meet different people, and cultures! Oh, can we, Coet?" She was smiling, eyes twinkling. She was grabbing on his forearm. He couldn't help but smile. She was like a child.
"Alright, pack some bags and we'll go calling on your friend. Alright?" She kissed him loudly on the mouth, and scampered down the hall. He smiled after her.
First they went to The Labyrinth. Explored some, saw the dragons. Daisy's friend then took the offworld, to a place called Ryslen. They loved the dragons, and the bustle concering a "Flurry". And then they found...the Leap Flits.
"Oh please oh pleeeeease Coet! Please? You agreed that we are missing something! Maybe this will help fill that emptiness! Please? Look at them! And you know you've always dreamed of being a Dragoner instead of a Fisherman. Well now here's your chance! This could be just the beginning. Can we?" He smiled. Nodded. She jumped and squealed.
They thanked the Prima again for her hospitality. They climbed on board the dragon, holding little bundles in their arms. Coet's was a dark dark green, and Daisy's, a pale lavender. Daisy was absolutely glowing with joy. He was calling his Crin, and she called hers Ceini.
They decided to visit other places next, rather than go straight home. They hopped from world to world, admiring all of the different varieties of dragon, and the strange new people that they met. It was a wonderful experience.
The last place they stopped was Darkling Dawn. It was like nowhere they'd ever been- forests went on in all directions forever. It was mind-boggling. But they were welcomed gladly, and were happy. There were eggs- dragon eggs- on the Sands. Daisy turned to Coet with pleading eyes, but he shook his head, smiling.
I think you should stay here, guys. They gasped and looked at each other. Then they turned to Daisy's friend's dragon.
Yeah, I'm serious. They need candidates. You need change. Your love for each other is true and strong- you've been through a lot together. This could be another chapter in your lives. I wish you both the best of luck! Hope to see you back on the Isle soon...but not too soon! And take care of those little guys. With that, they blinked away. Coet and Daisy looked at each other.
"Well...I guess we oughta find somebody now..," said Coet. Daisy's grin nearly took over her entire face.
