Prologue:
The sea of stars has many secrets and secret organisms. Some exist in space in the dark, devoid of temperature, water, or any gas to draw life from. Some live on the asteroids, in craters or fissures of the floating chunks of metal and rock some living things hide their existence from the eyes of outsiders. Lastly, some living things travel from world to world for reasons only known to them.
Then there is an organism that is feared throughout the universe. It has many names on many worlds such as Lukatli`, T'tama Zier, Erchtalignag, and Balvalgese. Yet, on the small, backwater planet called Earth, its name is Legion.
Legion has been around for over seven million years. It has decimated countless worlds for two reasons:
Survival and to spread the species throughout the universe.
Every once in a while a Legion queen, her drones, and the seeds of her plants will arrive on an unsuspecting planet.
CHAPTER 1 A planet.....in the middle of space........continueing to be hit with small asteroids and comets. In the last week a certain asteroid hit a important area of this planet.
The Lu'In, the small brown skinned, bald, and reptilian inhabitants of this planet, they are the ones who were originally a major ore mining and trading culture. That is until competition and several wars kept them from outter space. The Lu'In then banned all space travel and most technology that wasn't necessary. They formed small city states and their own new nations because of this. All of them trying to mine more minerals than the other to become wealthier and more powerul.
The scene is of five ore "trucks" collecting valuable ore off the surface of the sandy plains of the planet's southern continent. These ladybug-like ore gatherers were moving near an impact site of a newly crashed asteroid that crashed two weeks ago. The drivers paying attention only to the amount of valuable minerals they gather up not the small blips on radar that would turn into an assault that would end their lives.
As truck number#09870 reached its full capacity it began to move away from the ore field and was ready to go the ore refinery 30 miles away, but something or somethings had other plans. The truck's treads began to roll as the driver felt a starling bump on the back of his truck and he looked out and saw a large, black insectoid creature on the back of his vehicle. He saw it slice the metal back into thin slices that it devoured and he spied more of these creatures! At least 70 were attacking the other trucks and tearing them to pieces and eating the metal and ore. His frightened vision was cut short when one of these insects drove his pinsir through his face and penetrated his head and removed it slowly from the Lu'In's fractured, bloody skull. Because the Lu'In' feared attacks by raiders, each truck was equipped with a lazer and the drivers fired upon the Legion drones and some fell to the ground dead but others were unphased and continued their assault. One truck took off as fast as it could from the others yet then the driver stopped because he felt a tremor in front of him. Then the soil moved, and it split revealing a demonic, white form that resembled the other insects with differences though, especially size. The truck was stopped as the great behemoth struck the truck with its leg's tip and then caused the truck to explode and spill its contents which the queen began to devour............
