This is Potamarcha
congener male, not commonly
found everywhere. At the time of reproduction, they come
near the pond for mating. The body of males are violet in colour
except the last part of the abdomen, which is beautified by yellow patches.
Females are not colourful , and they are seen more in number than
the males. This group is seen in the month of August onwards, till

This is Rhyothemis
variegata male. Very
beautiful Dragonfly. Usually they are seen in pairs near ponds,
and most of the time spend on wings. They show fluttering movement
in the air. The males and females do not have much sexual dimorphism. In
both cases, the wings are transparent , and fore & hind wings
are with
yellow and black patches. |

This is Tetrathemis
platyptera male. Very
small dragonfly , rarely found away from water bodies. They are also seen
in pairs, perching on the tip of twigs and strings. They do not show much
sexual dimorphism. At a glance, it would be confused with the small
gomphus dragonfly because the presence of yellow patches on the
body and abdomen. Both wings are transparent , but the hind wings are with yellow shade. |

tillarga male.The
body is reddish in colour including abdomen
.Both wings are transparent , but the
hind wing is translucent with white and brown on the base .Most of the
time they are seen perching on the vegetation near the ponds, hanging on
to the side twigs . They are shade loving organisms and if they are disturbed, they will
fly away quickly from that area . |

This is Trithemis
aurora male. These
beautiful dragonflies are seen near the ponds and small lakes close to forest area. .
The body of male is deep pink in colour .
And they are very attractive and easily noticeable. The wings are
transparent with light pinkish shade. The base of hind wings are in a combination of yellow and brown
colour.. |

This is Brachydiplax
chalybea male. The body is bluish
in colour mixed with white on the dorsal side and dark yellow patches on
the thorax and first abdominal part of the ventral side. The
tip of the abdomen is black in colour. They are not common , found
only near the ponds. |

pallidinervis male. They are
seen very rarely near the ponds and small streams. The body
is brown in colour , but with yellow patches on the ventral side
and the tip of the abdomen. Both wings are transparent , with light
brown shade on the base of the hind wing. |
