Hello, my name is Tom. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Clinician currently working in a community. Most people, even in health care, really don't understand what I do. In fact I am a trained ER nurse (and still regularly work as one) with additional training and experience in psychiatry. I love my job and I enjoy teaching people about mental health - sometimes a scary subject. Why scary? Because there is a lot of misinformation and lack of knowledge, both in the general public and even in other health professionals.
I used to use this page to answer questions about psychiatry and mental health but I just don't have the time anymore. Some stuff is still helpful, so I'm leaving it like this for now. |
