ENDTIME  ALERT MINISTRY

 And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be."   Dan 8:11

"........  for the end will still be at the appointed time."   Dan 11:2

 "...... until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time."   Dan 11:35b

The appointed time is the beginning of the period of the end time, thus Daniel 11 verse 29 onwards are events in the end time. The king of the north refers to Iraq.

"At the appointed time he shall return and go toward the south; but it shall not be like the former or the latter. For ships from Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage. "   Dan 11:29-30a

Iraq was having wars with the king of the South for thousands of years. Either he won, lost or made peace.

but it shall not be like the former or the latter.

But in the last days, when Iraq comes against the nations in the South it will turn out to be different.

For ships from Kittim shall come against him

For ships from the Western land or nations (Kittim in Hebrew) will attack him and he will be forced to retreat.

therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage.

He will then hate and attack the Christians and Jews (holy covenant) and he will be extremely successful (do damage). For he will divert his fight against the southern Arab nations and called `jihad' or holy Muslim war against the West and Israel. Events leading to the `Gulf War'

Iraq in August 1990 AD attacked and annexed Kuwait to the surprise of the whole world. The President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, claimed that he is the descendant of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. He told the Iraqis that he would bring back the glory of the Babylonians again. The Babylonian Empire comprised of the present-day Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and the northern part of Saudi Arabia. Because of this war, all the Arab nations (with the exception of Jordan) condemned Iraq. UN ordered the immediate withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Kuwait.

Being a friend of the West, King Hussein of Jordan risked the retaliation of the Arab states by personally appealing to President Bush of America not to attack Iraq. Jordan sided with Iraq and stayed true to him which resulted to annoyance of the West and the Arab states. Jordan thus suffered, because of the withdrawal of financial support of the West and the rich oil states and the repatriation of Jordanians working in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Arab states.

In 1991 AD, because of the refusal of Iraq to withdraw, the West attacked in the `Gulf War'. The continuous bombing of Iraq from the American warships and carriers (Ships from the Western nations - Kittim in Hebrew) based in the Gulf of Arabia destroyed the majority of its weaponry and army. Though the war was one sided, Saddam Hussein resisted and called on `Jihad’ (making it a religious war) and Muslims (making it a holy war) to fight the Americans and the West. Many Iraqis died (with hardly any loss in the camp of the West) and the rest of the Muslim world mourned the killing by the West. Overnight, Saddam Hussein became the `hero’ of the Muslim world. Iraq surrendered and since then it came under UN sanction and supervision. Thus, it is deprived from ever becoming a strong and rich nation again. With Saddam Hussein's continuous verbal attack of the West, the Americans put forth a big budget to remove Saddam Hussein from power or to have him assassinated. So far, they have failed.

If the above 'Gulf War' is the fulfillment of prophecy in Daniel 11:29-30a,  then we are now living in the endtime period and awaiting Dan 11:30b and then Dan 11:40-45 to happen in order to continue our observation of endtime events. Dan 11:31-39 is the description of the religious and characteristic of the Antichrist after its conquest of Jerusalem.

Note: Since the `Gulf War', Iraq, a very secular state, became a very religious nation. In the centre of Baghdad, Saddam Hussein built the largest mosque in the world with the capacity of 45,000 worshippers. Worshippers filled all the numerous mosques and most of their women folk are now wearing the abaya (complete covering of their body and face).
