Where I've Been:

Hello, my name is Ian Dunst.  I was born on August 2nd 1976, and grew up in a suburban town, about 30 miles outside of New York City.  I lived with my family, parents and a younger brother, until I was 24.  I then got married to my college sweetheart and moved to Delaware.  During my adolescence, I learned from my family, along with experience, the values of relationships, being honesty, recognizing creativity, and among other things, embracing humor.

My Life as an Educator:

I have taught mathematics at three different high schools in New Jersey along with three other summer schools ever since I graduated in 1998.  I have also had the opportunity to teach at two different community colleges, located in New York and Delaware.  While teaching at the various high schools, I was able to coach soccer and tennis as well.  I enjoy teaching mainly because of my students’ energy, enthusiasm, and youthfulness.  I enjoy interacting with them about mature topics, along with whatever might be on their mind.  The challenge of trying to give my students a reason to enjoy coming to school everyday is an excellent self motivator.

When I'm Not Working:

During my free time, I enjoy relaxing with my wife, catching up with friends, or working on projects around our house.  My wife and I hope to create a loving and warm family in the nearby future.  Once I become a father, I know that my opinions and reactions to various topics will undoubtedly change.  At the same time, I’m sure that my personal goals will have a bigger impact on my professional goals.  Hopefully I will have the time, energy, and health to be able to reach many of my ambitions.
