Biodiversity

We have founded ABAE (Associazione Biologica Agricoltori Elbani - Organic Association of Farmers in Elba), that has been promoting since several years the "Organic Farming" on Elba, by helding important performaces in collaboration with national Organic Associations and local Institutions. Moreover the Farm is member of the "Bank of Germoplasma" of the Regional Agency ARSIA; we have some old species or cultivar of vines, still in production, and some spdies of fruit and vegetables.

We strongly believe in the need to mantain the biodiversity in Nature, that today is threatened by the intensive agriculture and by the persistent looking at profit. For this fact, we are given up to the research and the defence of the old species.

We should be gratefull to show to our hosts the characteristic and the great variability of this Natural richness, that the world risks to lose due to pollution, GMO, and town-planning projects.
