Treck is an eight year old German Shepherd Dog imported into the United States from Germany in April 2001. Treck and I train in the sport of schutzhund with the Susquehanna River Hundesport Klub. He lives to work and has an abundance of drive and ability for all three phases. He's a great sport dog, highly biddable and handler-oriented. We recently resumed schutzhund training in Spring 2009 after Treck was sidelined for two years with strains to the iliopsoas and gracilis muscles of his right hind leg. Although I had hoped to finish his SchH2 and 3, it seems as though our dream will not be realized. However, we are still training in tracking and obedience and are preparing for the CDX, OB1-3, TR 1-3 and FH titles! Please visit Treck's Tracking Blog! Treck is currently retired from the sport of agility. We trained with Karen Gaydos at Hot Paws Agility. His athleticism and focus assured a bright future in this sport. Treck is a very talented dog. Not only did his injury set us back years, but so did my work and school schedule. Considering the little time (and money) we did have to compete, Treck still managed to title in numerous sports. In our spare time, we've also dabbled in AKC/UKC obedience, weight pull, dock diving, and herding. Best of all, Treck makes an awesome trail running and hiking partner. He is a social, happy, versatile dog with very sound nerves. An honest worker, he greets every task with equal enthusiasm. |
