A beginning- July 1999, A storm was brewing outside as a young composer was beginning his first recorded works. James "V7" DeBower was forming a new style of music working under the moniker mEchanical sOul:the Terraformer. Working with a few different genre names ranging from Goth Black Grind,Rivet Doom, and Slaytanic Industrial, V7 had finally chosen RivetCore and used that as the name of his recording studio. In the tradition of Industrial music, James V7 DeBower had used RivetCore productions to help likeminded musicians to get their music to an accepting musical fanbase, as Throbbing Gristle did with Industrial Records.
Recordings ranged from the very Doom Metal influenced Doomed At Birth, synthpop/ebm Industrializeddd, synthesizer instrumental Nuclear Winter-which was originally planned as a soundtrack for a film script V7 had written, to hardcore Death Metal/Industrial/Black Metal/DarkWave influenced Rebirth to A Momentary Lapse of Bitterness which finalizes the formation of the foundations of Rivetcore. Currently Mekanikal Soul is polishing up a 3 song recording called The End Is Not Beautiful which is a preview of the next full length album which is currently titled Terraformer. Teraformer is a return to the more metal days of Mekanikal Soul with tighter and smoother song transitions and much more full sounding guitars. The introductory song for this album is complete and will be on myspace as soon as the mixing is complete. This will be the first Mekanikal Soul recording using my new guitar equipment and my newly built PA system. Terraformer will be a much differen beast than I have released in some time.
