Pastor Ira Roddey, First Lady Mary Roddey
Rev. Roddey first came to James Chapel during the time that we were observing Black History Month in February 1998. He was our guest speaker.
Suddenly, we were left without a pastor in March 1998. Some of the church officials contacted him and he stayed with us until December.
During a church meeting in December 1998, he was elected unanimously by the members to become our pastor. For nearly five years he has been the glue that has kept James Chapel Baptist Church together. He practices what he preaches.
Each year he has pastored James Chapel, we have gained new members. It shows that people are hungry for the Word of God based on Bible teachings and principles.
Since he has been with James Chapel we have gained thirty new members. In November 2002 alone, we had eight members added to our church.
