30/9/03: QUAGMIRE PRODUCTIONS

Hello to all those Quagmire fans awaiting our next project. With all the suceess of '
Fix' in 2003, we are ready to make our next film, 'Waiting For Naval Base Lily' on the 10th and 11th of october 2003, starring LAURA HENDERSON and TONY NICHOLS in what is fast shaping as the most talked about and controversial film of the 2003 season. Having proved itself in front of theatre heavyweights  and a cavalcade of scathing, winter punters, W4NBLILY is evolving as a dynamic piece of cinema.

Following this will be the first
FIRST AUSTRALIAN DOGME FILM EVER MADE called 'THE ACTRESS' starring Caitlin Higgins, Jodie Passmore, Steve McCall and Brent Hill. This will be a first in Australian cinema, in the tradittion of 'Festen' and 'Italian for Begginers' in which advances in Digital cinema will bring to life a trully Austtralian film. Director Zak Hilditch has great expectations for the film which will see the introduction of a new wave of cinema that relentlessly pursues Aussie cinema critics such as the movie shows M.Pomeranz and D.Stratton to take notice of a literally zero budget epic made in Perth's inner suburbs, and hopefully find a distributor. It will be Hilditch's first feature film, and will fully inherite the same style that Linklater's TAPE, Korine's DONKEY-BOY and Haneke's FUNNY GAMES embedded in the public's psyche.

"Australia is in need of cinematic change, and Hiltich offers us an insight into that suburban psyche that is screaming relentlessly for a voice."

- J. Middleton - Perth Music E-Zine

"Antony Webb and Zak Hilditch  (of Quagmire productions), once again prove that less is more, and nothing is fucking unavoidably creative."

- L. Jago - Green Lizard.snap.com.au
