Broadway:
Part 2
Jonathan, what kind of place is this?  Mommy said as she stared at the Stardust Diner. One of the girls from the office recommended it.  She said it was a great place to eat, especially with 2 kids, and the food was heavenly.  The Stardust diner isn’t like the place that mommy likes to eat when she goes out, but Daddy and I do.  It was a typical 50’s diner.  They had bar stools up at the counter and not only could you eat at booths on the bottom floor, but you could go upstairs too.  They even had coca-cola memorabilia on the wall, and a juke box in the corner that really worked.  Pretty soon our waitress Margie came over and led us to our table right in the middle of the restaurant.  She said that this was the best booth in the house and the show would start in a couple of minutes.  What show? Mommy and I asked at the same time?  Now darling, just sit back and relax.  Deann wouldn’t have recommended this place if she thought that you wouldn’t like it.  So I have Deann to thank for this…. remind me of that later will you?  Don’t worry you’ll love it.  All of the sudden, the music from the jukebox stopped and this guy dressed in all black leather started to talk.  Daddy said that this guys name was supposed to be Elvis.  He also said that mommy had a crush on him, when she was a teenager.  You did mommy?  I asked her, but she didn’t even recognize that I was talking to her, she was staring at Elvis.  Mommy has it bad for Elvis. Pretty soon there were other people joining Elvis on stage.  They were all dancing around.  They were even dancing on the ledge that was behind us.  They were dancing all over the place.  IT WAS COOL. It even got worse when Elvis did this think with his scarf, and then threw it at Mommy. She had the biggest grin on her face.  After that Elvis left, this blonde lady came out.  She had on this white dress which showed a lot of her boobies.  Mommy said that she was supposed to be Marilyn Monroe.  She also said that while she had a crush on Elvis when she was younger daddy had a crush on Marilyn.  In fact this Marilyn person came over and started talking do daddy.  She asked him what his name was and everything.  I don’t think mommy likes Marilyn at all.  Anyhow, Marilyn stopped talking to daddy when she noticed mommy wasn’t too happy with her and then started singing Happy Birthday to daddy, and it wasn’t even his birthday.  Then she started going all ga ga over daddy.  I thought mommy was going to slug this lady.  Daddy on the other hand was just grinning from ear to ear, I hope he knows mommy is not too happy with him right now.  After that Marilyn got done singing and left.  Daddy turned to mommy and said that she was just jealous that Elvis didn’t do the same to her.  I don’t know what she’s so mad for, she got Elvis’s scarf didn’t she.  After Marilyn left the stage these 4 guys got out and started playing some really cool tunes.  Daddy said that they were the Beach Boys.  He then turned to mommy and pulled her out on the dance floor.  A bunch of other people were already out there dancing so it didn’t bother me that they were out there too.  Pretty soon mommy was smiling again, so I knew she wasn’t mad at daddy anymore.  After that they came back to the table and we got to order our diner.  Daddy ordered for all of us and pretty soon we were all eating hamburgers and french fries, downed by chocolate shakes.  Mommy says that we will really have to go for a long walk tomorrow.  But I don’t think she was complaining too loudly since she ate all of hers and part of JJ’s too.
After we ate daddy said that he had one more surprise for us before we went back to the hotel room, so he waved down a cab.  I asked mommy in the cab is she was still mad at daddy, and she said no.  She said she actually had a very good time and couldn’t wait to tell Deann thank you for recommending the restaurant.  Pretty soon the cab stopped at our destination.  Were here daddy said.  Where are we I asked.  We are at the Empire State building princess.  It is one of the largest buildings in NY and you can see 5 different states from the top of it.  Cool, but daddy it says that they are closed for the night.  Don’t worry about that, I called them and told them that you were coming, so they stayed open just for you.  Really?  Really, now how would you like to go to the top.  I sure would daddy.  As we entered the building, a man came up to him and said Hello Mr. Hart, welcome to the Empire State building.  My daddy sure does know a lot of people.  Thank you Frank.  Frank Trouble, I’d like you to meet my wife Jennifer, and our children JL and JJ. And our housekeeper Regina.  Nice to meet you Frank said. So your Miss JL are you?  Your daddy told me that you would like to see the top of this building.  Are you ready to go up?  I sure am.  Well then, lets go.  Pretty soon we were all in the elevator going up to the top of the Empire State building.  When we got off the elevator, daddy pulled me up into his arms, come here princess, you’ve got to see this, and we looked out to see the lights of NY city twinkling below us.  It was an awesome sight.  Oh daddy its soo pretty.  It sure is isn’t it.  I’ll tell you what, why don’t I put you down and you can look through this telescope here and look wherever you want to.  I’m going to go see what your mother is up too.  Ok daddy.
When I got done, I looked around for mommy and daddy, but I could see them kissing again, so I went over to find Regina and Frank.  What do you think Regina?  This is pretty cool don’t you think.  I sure do Miss JL, what’s your favorite part?  I think the bridges cause there all lit up and they almost look like Christmas trees. They sure do don’t they.  Miss Regina, why don’t you and the children come in here for a minute.  I’ve got something for them.  We followed Frank to this gift shop place and JJ and I got to pick out a souvenir.  I picked out this globe that has the Empire State building in it, and when you shake it snow flies around it.  Its pretty neat.  Regina picked out a small teddy bear for JJ and then I noticed that she had a necklace on with the Empire State building on it.  Where did you get that at?  Frank gave it to me, she replied. I thought she and Frank liked each other, but I wasn’t going to say anything, I’d wait til later to ask her, cause I was getting sleepy, so I yawned.  Come on sleepyhead, lets go find your mommy and daddy, you have a big day tomorrow too.  And with that we went off to find them.
