2004-2006 PERFORMANCE

With a disappointing 2003 racing season over for me, I decided that to be able to deal with many rather bad cars floating aorund, I had to get a little more radical, so I took off the 2004 year with the Z28 while I gathered up parts and just had a little fun with my Lightning during the mean time.

The car was done in the spring of 2005, but the number 5 exhaust port had a small pin hole coolant leak. I pulled the heads and sent them out to the shop that did the work originally. That put an end to the 2005 season.

My 2004-2006 modifications(at least what I have so far):

Bought some AFR LT4 210 cylinder heads.

Fully ported LT4 intake.
Callies Dragonslayer 3.875" crankshaft.
LT4 block with 4 bolt Milodon billet main caps bored out 0.030" and clearanced for my stroker setup.
Diamond pistons 4.030" for a 3.875" crank and 5.850" rod. Will have 12.1:1 compression.
Hellfire 1/16" top rings, Cast 1/16" compression rings, 3.0 mm low tension oil rings.
Custom stud girdle & cast aluminum valve cover setup.
Comp Cams small base circle solid roller @ 0.050" 257/261, 104 CL, 0.657"/ 0.657"
Comp Cams valve springs, triple spring, 700 lbs open.
Harland Sharp 1.520" roller rockers.
Bronze distributor gear.
Trick Flow 7.850" pushrods.#1457850
Delteq ignition system radiator mount kit.
ATI SFI damper.
Crane solid roller lifters.
50 lb. Delphi fuel injectors.
Racetronix in tank fuel system.
Kooks 1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8" SS headers
Moser 12 bolt, 33 spline axles, Eaton posi, 4 channel abs, aluminum girdle, 1350 yoke, c-clip eliminators.
GM Performance 68 MM wheel studs. #22551491
Denny's Driveshaft 3" OD.
Mad Man alternator relocation kit.
CSI Ultra Lite starter for 153/168 tooth flexplates. #CSI-100U
Raced prepared & built TH-400 short tail shaft, fast t-brake, manual valve body, deep pan, etc.
GM reluctor pickup sensor, reluctor ring for VSS pickup and the correct plug.
Lokar 36" flexible dipstick tube.
TCI 168 tooth SFI flex-plate. #399773
B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter using stock console, looks great.
Neal Chance converter, 4300 stall on t-brake.
Koni SPA1 front drag struts set @ 90/10.
BMR adjustable chrome moly panhardbar.
BMR Xtreme lower control arms.
BMR tubular upper a-arms with Moog upper ball joints.
BMR tubalar lower a-arms.
BMR Xterme drag swaybar.
Eibach front drag springs.
TCI transmission shield & flex-plate shield
Spohn chrome moly adjustable torque arm with modified drive shaft loop for the TH-400 short tail shaft.
Competition Engineering rear drag shocks set @ 50/50..
ABS delete kit from SMJ manufacturing.
NGK TR-6 sparkplugs gapped @ .028".
DEI Versa Shields for the starter and other tight spots.
DEI Protect-A-Boots spark plug heat shields.
Fire protection jacket from my wife just in case :)
Cleaned up the wiring big time.
Removed cruise control & traction control.
NX wet 250 shot kit.
