JASON'S OTHER CARS HE HAS RACED HOME PAGE 1
The first car that I ever raced at a real race track was my 1971 Toronado GT with a 455 Oldsmobile motor. I gave it a valve job and new guides and took it to the track. I was expecting 13's...just I really never had anything to guage it against.

The car burnt rubber like you could not believe. It was front wheel drive and would get a good laugh at the track. The best run that I ever had was a 15.90@75mph. I normally ran 16.1's@87-88mph, but I was in my first round of elimanations and I was racing a guy who dialed in at 18.5 and I dialed in at 16.15. He took off and I caught him a little after the 1/8 mile and stayed next to him, I did not want to break out. I still did, and as you can see by my trap speed I was right next to the guy thru the traps. I figure that the car ran great that time, and I bet I would have ran at least a 15.5@89-90mph, at least on that run. I learned that night to never get out of it, all you are going to do is go faster than before, which is why most people drag race anyway. The thing that cracks me up in retrospect is the fact it weighed a ton, I never got of 2nd gear in the 1/4, I could not hook up at all. I miss it some.
