Report from the 2001 USAPL NGB meeting, held in Omaha, Nebraska. Collegiate items up for vote: 1. re: standardized medals This does not concern any national rules, so it will be handled by the Collegiate Committee. I am working on a way to make this work. Please continue submitting your ideas for the design. 2, 3. re: counting every school represented at Collegiate Nationals for team points and allowing said schools a repreive of the USAPL Club Registration proceedure. I withdrew these two in order to combine as one, ie make a new national rule that would allow for both instances. This motion FAILED. Opposition was concerned about the fee teams currently pay upon entry (Team entry fee). While this seems like double dipping (paying both a Club registration fee and then paying a team entry fee), concern was for meet directors who have to buy the trophies. We will introduce a motion at next year's Collegiate Business Meeting (IF there is interest) to try to get this in. 4. re; IPF team scoring for Collegiate Nationals This motion PASSED. An attempt was made to ammend the motion to have this scoring apply to all national meets, but was voted down (this was also previously voted down at the Tn/Jr Business Meeting). This means that at the 2002 Collegiate Nationals, scoring will follow this method. More on that on another page, to be linked later. E mail me if you need more info ( jonmagendie@hotmail.com ) MOTIONS FROM OTHER COMMITTEES AND FROM THE FLOOR From COACHING COMMITTEE 1. Motion to require all official coaches to be current members in good standing. This was ammended to "All official coaches at IPF/WORLD events". Motion PASSED From floor or submitted before meeting: 1. re: Change membership expiration date to be 12 months from DATE OF PURCHASE. Motion PASSED. Effective 7-13-01 2. re: Require that the National Office send out to the NGB members Drug Testing and membership reports on a quarterly basis. Motion PASSED. 3. re: Reduce high school membership dues to 15 dollars. Motion FAILED. (SEE MOTION FROM FLOOR) 4. re: Motion to permit the hiring of a part time Book-keeper. Motion FAILED.
