Real Name: Jonothon Evan Starsmore Age: Roughly 19 Height: 5'9 Weight: Before the accident, 140 lbs. Believed to weigh less since he no longer has internal organs. Hair: Auburn Eyes: Brown First Appearance: Generation X #1 Powers: Able to discharge raw bionuclear pisonic energy that can strike with concussive force or disrupt the binding properties on a sub-atomic level so that it explodes violently.

Jono had a pretty good life. Born in London, he came from a fairly wealthy family, had a beautiful girlfriend named Gayle Edgerton, and was on his way to a profitable musical career. Of course, things didn't work out for Jono like he wanted them to. One night while at a club with Gayle, his life changed forever. He pulled her into a closet (to makeout, no doubt) when suddenly his powers manifested, exploding from within him. He demolished the club and blew off half his face and the upper part of his chest. Gayle was crippled from the explosion. There have not been many accounts of Jono's manifestation experience. Actually, I've only come across one (Weapon X #16, which was very recently). But I have read that he went into a coma after the explosion and awoke in a morgue a couple days later. I'm not sure if that's the truth, but I thought I should put that in.

With no jaw or mouth to speak with, Jono relies on his small telepathic ability to speak to others. He uses special leather/rubber bandages to contain the psionic fire that constantly leaks out from the gaping hole in his body, which makes him look more like a burn victim than a mutant.

Obviously, this gave him a very bleak outlook on life. He was very ashamed of what he did to Gayle and ran. Soon, Professor Charles Xavier sent him an invitation to his newly opened mutant academy in New York. Not seeing any other option, Jono accepted.
