London is one of the great capitals of the world, the largest and most cosmopolitan city in Europe, and WALKS IN LONDON would like you to enjoy your stay and make the most of it, in all senses: culture, entertainment, shopping, and...why not, wonderful pictures to take back home!
WHAT IS WALKS IN LONDON?
WiL is the first programme of guided tours and tourist information in several languages, featuring walks all over London, for all tastes, from the well known attractions to those picturesque areas off the beaten track, UNKNOWN to tourists and Londoners alike!
WHICH SORT OF TOURS WE OFFER?
Basically we have created TWO types of door-to-door tours:
1.~ FULL-DAY TOURS (approx. 9 hours.). In company of your guide you are going to explore UP TO 3 AREAS of London.
2.~ HALF-DAY TOURS (approx. 4 1/2h.). To discover UP TO 2 areas.
WHAT ARE OUR TOURS LIKE?
All is very easy and COMFORTABLE for you!: all tours START and TERMINATE AT YOUR HOTEL!.
Because in ALL DAY TOURS and HALF DAY TOURS, the guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel at 10 AM!
However, we can agree DIFFERENT times.
The tours ARE CUSTOMIZED to your tastes! So, when you meet your guide you start deciding where we are going...!
To connect the different areas we are visiting we use PUBLIC TRANSPORT (preferably buses -maybe one of the last Routmastes!...- but we can use taxis, the underground, and, why not, canal and river boats). TRANSPORT IS NOT included in the price.
WHY WALKING TOURS?
Well, you've guessed already!: this is the best way to explore the little corners, to discover secret places... and know the REAL London...
In fact the great number of sights and the variety of the city and its architecture makes it advisable to follow pre-arranged itineraries with the company of the guide, to understand much better what you are seeing!.
You are going to beat the track!.
BUT...ONLY WALKING?
Of course, no!...We'll be talking a lot: your friendly guide knows London quite well and he will entertain and enlighten you as no travel-book can!.
History and characters (from Shakespeare to Tony Blair), architecture and urbanism, the costumes of the country, food, politics... and so on.
And we'll be able to enjoy live music in the pubs...
walks along the Thames and the Canals... wander inside de parks...
We are going to experience and discover London's contrasting faces...with pleasure!
