The father was a gold-black, oddly enough, a huge creature.
In morbid curiousity, the chimera wondered whether any of the children would be pure black. Or maybe blood red, or even a mix of the two. Yeah, that would look cool.
Anyway, he hoped the clutch hatched soon, whether a dragon chose him or not.

"What!?" Eeys yelled furiously when he found out the eggs had gone still.
The rider-he'd never really bothered to find out his name or rank-shrugged, undaunted by the three-headed beast in front of him. "It doesn't look like they're ever going to hatch now. Twin Moon's closing, as well, so you'll have to stand somewhere else."
Eeys growled to himself, and the chimera stalked off. Hediru and the others had probably long since bonded by now; he'd have to be quick to catch up. He ran off to look for a more amiable rider that could take him somewhere else to bond.
He wound up at a place called Cormwood. It was relatively new and had just opened up, so he hoped their clutch wouldn't be stillborn like Twin Moon's had been.
