I See You Chapter 5 "Sunshine Daydream McCloud! You have ten minutes to get up or I'm sending Brita up to help you!" My eyes shot open when I heard my Aunt Lauryn say Brita. I quickly got out of my bed and locked the door. Brita is my German shepherd, and she is famous for waking people up with big, wet kisses. I was definitely not in the mood for puppy drool. I grabbed my bookbag and pulled out my planner to figure out what needed done today. FATIMA - DANCE PRACTICE I groaned seeing that scrawled into the box for today. In fifteen minutes I was dressed and out the door on my way to the studios. I had on a pair of track pants and a white tank, along with my favorite, old sneakers. When I arrived, all of the other girls were already there. "OK girls! Let's get started!" Fatima shouted. After two hours of sweating and dancing, though I wouldn't call what I was doing dancing, Fatima had to go someplace and gave us a break until she came back. I collapsed onto the floor and poured my bottle of water onto my head. "Someone's a bit exhausted?" Mari joked. "Shoot!" Haley shouted as she hit her head. "What?" Kimi asked. "I just remembered that I have Claire's stuff in my car including her science project!" "Good goin Haley, you know your sister is probably already in hysterics that she doesn't have her project," Lisa laughed. "Just take it to her now, if you don't make it back before Fatima, we'll let her know where you are," I said. "Thanks!!" Haley shouted as she ran out of the building. I walked into the dance room next door to the one we were in. I turned the CD player on. Nick's voice came blaring out of the speakers. I sat down on a folding chair thinking. This song reminds me so much of the variety show last year. As I listened, I stood up and began to dance with the chair. Flashbacks of that night entered my mind. Me and four friends dancing on the stage in front of our classmates. It was Becky's idea. It was her favorite group and she had taught us the whole dance routine. Her favorite was Nick. "Wow! You can dance!" Nick said with sarcasm in his voice. I turned around and stared at him. Posters of him hanging all over the room, posters I later helped Becky's mom take down. "Whatever," I mumbled. I turned around to turn the CD off. Tears welled up in my eyes. "Are you all right?" he asked touching my shoulder. "No, I'm not !" I shouted and ran out of the room. I can't believe she had to die trying to meet this guy. I ran to my car and took off. "What's wrong with her?" Nick asked when he joined the others. "I don't know," Lisa shrugged. "Where's AJ?" Kevin asked. "Probably still sleeping, let me call him," Howie pulled out his cellphone. Haley walked into the room, "Hi everybody! I'm back." "Hi" they said in unison. "No one answered, so I guess he is on his way," Howie said. I wasn't far from my aunt's when I noticed smoke coming from a house on another road. Instinct told me to stop, so I pulled over. A man with red hair came running out of the house. I ran towards the man. When I reached him, he had collapsed. He looked up at me, "Sunny...why?"Next: Chapter 6 |
