Chapter 1

"Love is when I loved you....One true time I hold true....In my life we'll always go on."

Jennifer Larson eyed her sister, Erin, through the rearview mirror in the backseat. "Really, Celine after winning the Grammy I thought you might shut up."

Erin stuck her tounge out at her sister. Jennifer's blonde hair was in a bun and Erin saw this as a prime target for her soccer ball. "Owwww...what did mom say about that dumb thing in the car."

"There it is" Erin pointed to the soccer field. Jennifer saw kids running, some quite slowly, across the field. "Oh look it's Angel" Erin squealed.

"Squeal one more time and I will rip off your lips and mail them to you." Jennifer said through her teeth.

The car stopped and Jennifer and Erin got out of the mini-van. Jennifer hated soccer practices. Sure it was great Erin played but watching a group of 12-year olds learn how to play soccer was about as exciting as watching paint dry. A small blonde girl ran up to Erin and Jennifer.

"Hey Erin!"

"Hey Angel"

"Hey Let me puke!" Jennifer thought. Erin said her goodbyes to her sister and the two small girls ran off to the field.

It was hot, she was thirsty, and there was no one to talk to. Why did she have to be here? Jennifer straightened out her khaki shorts and sat on the baking bleachers. YUCK! gum. She peeled her tan fingers off the seat and left in search of a bathroom to wash her hands in. Kids with brightly colored uniforms darted around playing and yelling. Somehow Jennifer couldn't get excited--about anything. True in the fall she began college at NYU but for right now she was still stuck in Florida with her family. The bathrooms were off from the field near trees. Jennifer rounded the corner to the Women's bathroom. A firm shoulder rammed into her nose. "Owww..."

"Geez I'm sorry."

Jennifer looked up expecting to see some embarrassed middle-aged father full of apologies but instead she saw a nice face. His eyes were a clear blue set perfectly into a tan face. His nose was small and subtle. His teeth a beautiful white. On top, sat beautiful blond hair which came down right above his ears.

"Uuuh. I'm great." I'm great? Who was she Tony the Tiger?

"Are you sure you're okay"

"Yeah..." Jennifer touched her nose to verify the comment.

"Okay then see ya around"

"Bye" squeaked Jennifer. Wow. Jennifer watched the boy walk away. His denim Tommy Hilfiger shorts came down far enough to see his blue boxers. A White Sox jersey defined his broad shoulders. Mmmmmmmm. Giggling disturbed her gazing.

Two blonde heads came into full view from behind several bushes. Erin and that girl Angel.

"You must not want to see the age of 13" Jennifer stammered out.

"Did you think he was cute?" Erin asked.

"No."

Angel giggled. Jennifer didn't know Angel but found her quite annoying. "Why are you laughing?"

"No reason..."

Jennifer turned around and walked back to the bleachers. She wondered who the blonde guy was, why Angel had found the situation so amusing?, and why she hadn't washed her hands. Just as she was sitting down back on the bleachers yells of "MOVE!" surrounded her and everything went black.

One ring, two rings, three rings, and a fourth ring. Bren opened her eyes briefly and watched her answering machine click on. A smooth baritone began to speak.

"Baby, it's A.J. I hope you not picking up means you are getting ready to go shopping with me..." Oh hell, was that today? Bren thought.

"..I will see you in about 30 minutes, luv ya."

Bren's shoulder length brown hair was tusseled from last night's sleep and her brown eyes had a hard time adjusting to the light in her room. Bren and A.J. had been dating for about 5 months and the relationship had been anything but boring. A.J. had absolutely stolen her heart but as of lately A.J. had been---- well, unnerving. Things like singing to her in public or talking to the display models in the mall had been cute but now he just got on her nerves and he was always gone. Normal girls had to deal with their boyfriends canceling dates because of football practice not because they had to be on "The View" or "The Rosie O'Donnell show". Bren just got tired of not seeing A.J. regularly and another problem came in the form of a 5'9" blonde with green eyes named Danielle Pages. She was beautiful and nice to everyone but Bren. Danielle wanted A.J. and it was known whatever Danielle wanted she got---but not this time. Thinking of Danielle with A.J. pumped Bren full of energy and she jumped out of bed and headed towards the shower. The phone rang. "Huulllo" although her mind was wake Bren's mouth still wasn't.

"Hey Bren" EEEwww it was Danielle.

"What?"

"Oh nothing but when you see A.J. tell him his red boxers with the blue boats on them are still over here." CLICK!

Brian Littrell bent over his girlfriend Kaylan to get the gum off her face.

At least that's what he said he was going to do but instead he began to tickle her relentlessly. Kaylan's 5'2" frame shriveled up as she began to laugh. Her blonde hair became full of leaves and her blue eyes welled up with tears. Brian stopped and quickly ran and hid behind a tree.

"Brian, have you lost your mind?" Kaylan said as she picked herself off the ground.

Brian raised his top lip over his teeth and began acting like a beaver. It was off the wall things like this that made Kaylan love Brian. He was cray, he was beautiful, and he was hers. Brian stopped his impersonation and ran and grabbed Kaylan. Their picnic had been ruined by an onslaught of black ants but the mood hadn't. He was wonderful.

"You know everytime a leaf falls a squirrel gets a buzz cut"

"Really?.. I see" Kaylan answered.

His small frame was perfect for her. His smile lit up her entire world and he knew it.

"I love you so much" he said.

"I know" Tyke seemed to take notice of the two and bounded from the leaves he was playing with to them. Kaylan picked him up and began to scratch his small pointed ears. Brian then scratched Kaylan's ears and began to laugh. Tyke suddenly bolted out of KAylan's arms and ran towards the road.

"TYKE! COME BACK HERE" Brian and KAylan began run after the small but fast dog. The dog heeded no warnings and darted into the road. A small pick-up truck edged closer to the dog....

Avocados, mangos, and pineapple. Kate Rouse loved grocery shopping. It was fun to see the exotic foods, buy them, and take them home to make a masterpiece. Kate picked up a watermelon and knocked on rine.

"Is anyone answering back?"

"I would be afraid if someone did." Kate turned around to see who the voice belonged to. A tall man with dark hair looked down at her. Wow! He had a gorgeous face--a roman god,----to put it mildly.

"Well, is it good?" He asked.

"Is what good?...oh.. the uh... the uh"

"I think some people call it a watermelon" his smooth voice answered.

"Right...a watermelon...sounds good." I deserve to be shot Kate thought silently.

He laughed a gentle laugh and pushed his cart away.

Curly hair appeared above the side of Katherine's bed. It disappeared then reappeared. This same pattern went on 5 more times. Howie sat up and looked at Katherine. "Why do you work out Howie?"

"So I can look good for you." Howie winked.

"Uh..sure...did you see that guy at the table across from us in the restaurant tonight?"

"What guy?"

"The one with the brown shirt on and had a cute Dutch boy haircut."

"Yeah,,,what about him?"

That is the guy Jessica knows that said he wanted to go out with me.

"Really, that's good" Howie resumed his push-ups.

"I thought so too,"Katherine said," Maybe you could put in a good word for me?"

Howie stopped and sat up. "Why...? Do you like him...? He seemed rather arrogant to me."

"Why is it everytime I bring up a guy you dismiss them?"

"I dunno" Howie winked.

"Stop winking for 3.7 seconds and answer my question."

"You seem to pick the wrong guys." Katherine had to give Winky credit on that comment.

"What kind of guy should I choose then?"

"How about someone like me?" Howie stated matter-of-factly.

Katherine had been near the edge of her bed getting a book when he made the comment and when the statement sunk in her knee slipped off the edge of her bed and Katherine landed on the floor with a loud thud.
