Lost Dreams Chapter 14 The words between ~~ are things heard inside the mind of the person that hears them Howie was surrounded by at least fifty people. Nina held his hand. 'It will be alright.' Howie had to admit he was nervous but he made up his mind. He wanted to be with Nina. A girl stepped forward. 'Have you made up your mind?' Howie nodded. 'You are ready to give up this life you lead now for a living in darkness.' Howie nodded again. 'You know by joining us there is no way you can ever go back to your normal life.' 'I know that.' The girl stepped back. Nina turned to face Howie. 'This will only hurt a minute.' Nina concentrated on the vein in his neck. Howie closed his eyes when he felt Nina's sharp teeth in his neck. He could feel the life being sucked out of him and he welcomed the blackness surrounding him.Kevin looked at his watch. 'Howie is never late.' AJ nodded. He had this gloomy feeling he didn't like the choice his friend made. 'Maybe we should get started with him.' Brian said. Nick nodded. The four guys walked on stage and started rehearsing for the show. They just finished one song when they heard people applauding. Kevin saw Alec sitting on a front row seat. 'That was good. Where is number five?' Kevin shrugged. He is late. He sat down on the edge of the stage. Alec wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. Nick jumped of the stage and walked to Lisa. 'Are you okay?' She nodded. 'So are we going on a date tonight?' Lisa smiled. 'Just the two of us?' Nick nodded. Brian and AJ looked at each other. 'Guess rehearsal is over.' AJ nodded. 'Boo.' Aaron nearly jumped out of his seat. 'Jess, you nearly gave me a heart attack.' Jess pulled a chair close and looked at the computer screen. 'What is a healthy young boy doing in the library at 9 PM?' Aaron looked at Jess. 'I am looking up some information.' 'I've known you for a week now and you never seemed very enthusiastic about doing your homework.' Aaron started laughing. 'I have two reasons. I had to get my girlfriend of my back and two this is not for school. My best friend disappeared and I am hoping to find some information on her.' Aaron stared at the screen. 'I'm hoping to find her really.' Jess ruffled through his hair. 'I'll leave you to it. Maybe I should get a book.' 'Books are for intelligent people.' Jess started laughing. 'Oh thanks stupid.' Aaron concentrated on the computer again. He had found a list of missing persons of the last hundred years. He was flicking through the pages. 'Hey hold on.' He went back a few pages. 'Jess?' She popped her around a bookshelf. 'Yeah?' 'Do you have an aunt that you were named after?' 'No, why?' Jess walked to Aaron. 'This girl, Jessica, looks just like you only she disappeared nearly 45 years ago.' Aaron turned to look at Jess but she was gone. 'Jess?' ~I am so sorry Aaron. I had hoped that that would stay a secret. ~ Aaron turned pale. 'You are one of them?' He whispered. Next: Chapter 15 |
