Lost Dreams Chapter 21 Brian was worried. Nick and Aaron were missing for a few weeks now. AJ was behaving weird. And Kevin was being moody. And than Jess came by today to say that they were leaving town. Brian didn’t know what to do. Things were happening around him and he had no grip on them. He was losing all his friends. He threw a rock in the ocean. Maybe he should take Jess up on her offer to go with her. A change would be good. Brian rose to his feet and turned around. ‘Oh god Nick.’ Brian gasped. Nick smiled at him. ‘Hey Brian.’ Brian hugged him. ‘Gee, you are cold.’ Nick shrugged. ‘I haven’t had dinner yet.’ Brian frowned. There was something different about Nick. ‘Nick, are you okay?’ Nick nodded. ‘I’m doing great, Brian. Come with us Brian. Life will be a whole lot better.’ Nick looked at him with red eyes. Brian stumbled back wards. ‘Are you one of them?’ He stuttered. ‘One of them? One of who?’ ‘Alec did that eye thing too.’ Nick smiled and his fangs showed. ‘I am a vampire Brian. Forever life and that bla bla. You should try it too.’ Brian shook his head. ‘You are scaring me.’ Nick started laughing. ‘Don’t be scared. Come with us. Have a better life.’ ‘No, Nick. I am staying. I am not coming with you.’ Nick sighed. ‘Than this is goodbye. Lisa and I are going today to check out the new mansion in New Orleans.’ Brian hesitated for a minute but than hugged Nick. Nick stepped back. ‘Goodbye Brian.’ Brian turned around and walked away. He didn’t look over his shoulder but he knew Nick wouldn’t leave until Brian was out of sight.A long line of black cars drove through the empty streets of Orlando. AJ held Kathy tight. ‘I have to go now AJ. I am driving the last car.’ AJ reluctantly let go. Kathy kissed his cheek. ‘You can still change your mind.’ AJ shook his head. ‘No, I can’t do it.’ AJ looked at Aaron. The boy had changed. He looked older. All the people did what he told them to do. Aaron smiled. His fangs gave AJ shivers. Kathy got in the car. ‘Take good care.’ AJ nodded. Brian placed his hand on AJ’s arm. ‘Come on. Let them go.’ Brian looked at Kevin who was talking to Alec. She also tried to convince Kevin to come. But Kevin didn’t want to go. Finally she gave up. She got in and Kevin walked to Brian. ‘Funny.’ Kevin said. ‘We all want to be with the people we love but we are not willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.’Next: Epilogue |
