Lost Dreams Chapter 5 Steph was pacing the livingroom. 'Jane, he was suppose to be here hours ago?' Jane Carter looked at her young son's girlfriend. 'He will be all right. He always is.' Steph sat down on the couch. 'Do you think it's me that is causing those funny moods?' Jane sighed. 'No Steph. Let me tell you something about Aaron's past.' Steph nodded. 'Aaron was born on the same day as the girl next door, Hannah. Naturally they became friends. Shortly after their sixth birthday Hannah disappeared. She was never found again. Aaron didn't really understand at the time what was happening. When he grew older he just forgot, or that was what I thought. I think that he never forgot her.' Steph wiped a tear. 'Did they ever find anything of her?' Jane shook her head. 'Nothing, not even a piece of clothing.' Steph jumped up at the sound of the front door. Nick and Aaron entered the livingroom. 'Aaron, I've missed you, where have you been?' Aaron hugged his girlfriend and gave her a kiss. 'I went to the arena to check out Nick.' Nick sat down next to his mother. 'It was awesome again.' 'Good, are you hungry?' 'Am I ever not?' Jane smiled and pulled Nick into the kitchen. Steph looked at Aaron. 'You look tired. Do you want to go to sleep?' He nodded and together they walked to the bedroom. Steph helped Aaron take of his shirt. 'I'm not a child, Steph.' Steph backed off and sat on the bed. Aaron sighed. 'I'm sorry, honey.' Aaron kissed her hair. 'Here are a shirt and boxers for you to wear.' Steph quickly changed her clothes and jumped under the covers. Aaron wrapped his arms around and closed his eyes. A snarling sound from outside sent shivers down Steph's back. 'What was that?' Whispered Steph. 'I didn't hear anything.' Steph look at the window that was open because of the summer heat. Five pair of red eyes stared back at her. Steph gasped. 'Aaron, there are….' Aaron got up. 'There is nothing here.' He opened the curtain completely and looked outside. 'Nothing to see.' Aaron got back in bed. Steph looked at the window one more time. Total darkness was the only thing she saw. She didn't see the girl standing on balcony staring at them. The girl turned when a hand was touching her shoulder. 'I'm okay.' She said smiling. Four other hands took her arms and took her back to her house.Next: Chapter 6 |
