Chapter 11

*Feburary 13th, 2000*

"I can't believe I'm here," Torrie Jenkins told her roommate Emilie Parker, as they walked into the Orlando International Airport on a bright, sunny Florida day. There were passengers hustling and bustling every which way, as Torrie and Emilie headed down to Baggage Claim A to recover their luggage.
"I am so happy that the guys invited me as well! I would have never guessed that they would want me to come too!"
"I'm happy to be here too," Emilie replied excitedly, as they took the escalator down. "I was starting to get sick of all that snow down in Ottawa!"
"What time are the guys picking us up at?" Torrie wanted to know.
"Probably in a few minutes," Emilie answered smiling, as she pushed her strawberry blond hair behind her ear. She had recently gotten hair extensions which she had won from a local beauty salon, and loved them. Her hair, which used to be just below her chin, was now halfway down her back.
Torrie admired Emilie's hair, but loved her own as well. Torrie was average size, but was about 5'9. She had wide hazel eyes that were accented by long, brown eyelashes, light brown hair that reached past in shoulders in luxurious layers, and a refined pouty smile that made any guy melt.
"When do we start shooting the video?" Torrie asked.
"Tomorrow morning at seven am," Emilie answered, thinking about it. She was overly excited, and had to pitch herself, to make sure it was real. She couldn't believe she was going to be starring in a the guy's video, and was excited about her costume fitting that afternoon.
"Emilie, do you realize, you are going to be famous?" Torrie asked her. "I mean, think about it. You are going to be the envy of so many little teenyboppers."
"And I am scared to death," Emilie commented, as they took their place to receive their luggage. "I just can't imagine everyone knowing who I am."
"Everyone already knows who you are," commented someone beside her, and Emilie and Torrie turned to see a 16-year-old girl with black hair, big, brown eyes, and an hourglass frame. She was wearing a Backstreet Boys t-shirt, and was standing with her family.
"Your name is Emilie Anne Parker. You were born in Toronto, Ontario, and you dated Nick for a year and a half. You had a cancer scare, and Nick is with Mandy now. You hate Sheri, Eloisa, and Mandy, and you go to Carleton University and have a new boyfriend or 'friend' named Drew. Her new roommate is Torrie, who is standing with you."
"How do you know all that?" Torrie looked at the young girl, amazed.
"Research," the girl grinned, and Emilie smiled back. "My name is Marisa Schroeder, obsessed BSB fanatic."
"Emilie Parker," she extended her hand, and Marisa shook it. "Do you know why I am here?"
"Yes, the shooting for 'I Need You Tonight'," answered Marisa. "I am going to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow to see the shooting."
"Cool," Torrie nodded. "It's kind of scary how everyone knows your life Em."
"I know," Emilie agreed, grabbing her luggage, realizing they both had all their luggage. "Nice meeting you Marisa. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow."
"Cool," Marisa grinned. "Bye!"
"Cute kid," Torrie commented, as Emilie and her walked out the sliding doors to the rental cars, and observed a Silver Expedition with the license plate 'Bone 69'. They saw AJ in the driver's side, with Amanda on the other side. Brian McKnight's '6,8,12' was blaring out the speakers, as Amanda and AJ began making out.
"Maybe we should wait," Emilie winked at Torrie, who nodded with a grin. "So, are you looking for any men down here?"
"Sure am," Torrie laughed. "A nice blond-haired surfer would be sweet. How about you?"
"Nope, I got Drew," Emilie answered, as Torrie shook her head.
"I still don't understand how you took that ass back after the night of the concert," Torrie commented, rolling her eyes. "Em, you can do so much better. You attracted Nick Carter! Every girl in the world wants him!"
"Drew and I are strictly friends," Emilie told Torrie, but there was a sly smile on her face.
"What are you hiding Emilie?" Torrie shrieked at her. "Tell me now!"
"Drew and I kissed last night," Emilie told her. "It was a soft, sweet little kiss on the lips, but it was amazing."
"So, are you and doufus a couple?" Torrie wanted to know.
"Maybe, I don't know," Emilie shook her head. "We are just seeing each other, I guess. We never really discussed it yet. Drew said he'll call me tonight, so I figured we would talk about the future then."
"Are you going to tell Nick?" Torrie asked.
"Nick is my best friend, and I will tell him, eventually," Emilie responded, as she saw AJ get out of the car, and come to look for them. He was wearing black pants, a black tank top, a gold chain, and a leopard print cowboy hot.
"Here comes trouble," Torrie cried loudly, and AJ turned to see them.
He smiled, waved, and headed over to them. "Hello ladies," AJ smiled. "Looking sexy as always. How are you?"
"Hi AJ," Emilie smiled, as he gave her a hug. "I'm doing okay thanks. How are you?"
"I'm swank," AJ answered, as Torrie looked at him puzzled.
"Swank?" she repeated, trying not to laugh. "What does that mean?"
"It means cool, chill, nothing much," AJ answered, laughing. He grabbed their luggage, and put it into his car. Amanda noticed them there, opened the door, and jumped out excitedly.
"Emilie! Hi!" she exclaimed, and gave her a hug. "How are you?"
"Hi Amanda," Emilie smiled back. "Good thanks. How are you? This is my roommate Torrie."
"Nice to meet you Torrie," Amanda shook her hand, as Emilie climbed into the back of AJ's car. "I hope we weren't late. We were kind of held up."
"We noticed," Torrie teased them. "Maybe you guys should come up for air once and a while."
"Blame it on the bone," Amanda laughed. "He insisted he needed some loving and I just couldn't resist."
"Nobody could resist the bone," AJ said good-naturedly, as he got in, shut his door, checked his rearview mirror, and screeched out of the loading area. "You guys like Brian McKnight?"
"I love Brian McKnight!" Emilie cried. "Drew sang 'Back At One' to me last night and it was so incredible."
"Aw, how sweet," Amanda cooed from the front seat. "All AJ ever sings to me is 'Too Close'!"
"Baby when we're grinding, I get so excited...," AJ sang, as Amanda laughed, and kissed his cheek. "So, you and football boy are dating now?"
"I don't know yet," Emilie answered, but everyone noticed the dreamy expression on her face. "How's everyone?"
"Peachy keen," Amanda responded, turning around to talk to Emilie and Torrie. "Everyone's all excited about the video shoot."
"I'm nervous," Emilie said. "I keep getting butterflies in my stomach."
"You wrote be when you see your dress," Amanda told her. "It's gorgeous. It's light blue and has lace, satin, and ribbons everywhere. It looks like Cinderella's gown so much, it's scary."
"Really? Wow! It sounds beautiful!" Emilie breathed, as AJ put down his window.
"Well, I hate this video concept," AJ complained, as he whizzed into another lane of traffic, barely missing the car that was in front of them. "I have to wear a tuxedo, and I can't alter it in any way."
"AJ, they said you didn't have to wear the tuxedo," Amanda reminded him. "You could wear whatever you want Hun."
"Really?" AJ raised his eyebrows, as he switched on the radio, and on came Westlife's "Say It Again". "Good. I'll have to talk to Morgan about changing my tux a little."
"Don't do anything too radical AJ," Torrie winked at him, and he laughed.
"I'm never going to say goodbye, because I never want to see you cry, I just want to share your love and your pain," Emilie sang to herself, as the words cascaded into her head. She loved that song, and it reminded of the wonderful relationship she could possibly begin with Drew. She was a little weary of the whole thing because she had called Drew the night before, and Billie had answered the phone. Drew insisted they were doing a school project together, but Emilie was still a little suspicious.
"I like this song," Amanda commented. "This group is on Lou's label now."
"Really?" Emilie asked, as the song ended. "I really like it. It's really romantic."
"I hate all these romantic ballads," Torrie complained. "They all sound the same! I like BSB, because they're different, but I'm more into country now. I really like the Dixie Chicks."
"Country?" AJ repeated, and pretended to gag.
"What's wrong with country?" Torrie snapped back playfully.
"The only thing right about country is Shania Twain," AJ commented, as Torrie and Amanda rolled their eyes.
"She is so skanky," Torrie replied. "The girl can't even sing, and she dresses so provocatively. What is so fascinating about her?"
"She has catchy songs," Emilie put in. "I like 'Man! I Feel Like A Woman!"
"Emilie, can I say gag?" Torrie complained, shaking her head. "Shania is not talented. She's so gross."
"She's okay," AJ defended her.
"You just like her for the way she looks," Amanda told AJ. "You're a typical male who gets horny off her. I bet you don't even know one song she sings."
"I do," AJ defended himself. "And I don't get horny off her Panda. You are the only one who gets me horny."
"Oh really?" Amanda raised her eyebrows. "Well, you aren't the only one who gets me horny."
"What?" AJ asked, his sunglasses tilting down, and a worried expression creeping across his dark brown eyes. Amanda looked serious for a moment, but her face turned into a teasing smile, as she laughed whole-heartedly at AJ.
"I'm kidding Bone," Amanda told him.
"Oh, I'm going to get you," AJ threatened her, and took his free hand, and started tickling her stomach.
"AJ!" Torrie shrieked, as his head flew around, and he slammed on the brakes, barely missing the tanker truck in front of him.
"Shit," AJ muttered under his breath, as the three females recovered their breath. "Sorry guys."
"It's okay AJ," Emilie reassured him, but Torrie and Amanda both had pale looks on their faces. They headed for the rest of the ride in silence, as AJ pulled into Trans Con records, so Emilie could be fitted for her dress. Torrie and Emilie thanked AJ for the ride, and headed in ahead of AJ and Amanda so they could talk.
"That was close," Torrie finally told Emilie, as they approached the silver-bricked building. "I don't understand why they have to flirt so much, especially AJ is trying to drive. He could have killed us all."
"He said he was sorry," Emilie defended him, as she walked through the doors. She walked over to the receptionist, who directed them upstairs to the top floor where the production team was along with he rest of the guys.
Torrie glanced at Emilie, and saw she was deliberately avoiding her eyes. "Why are you mad at me?" Torrie snapped, bluntly, and Emilie glanced at her.
"I'm not mad at you Torrie," Emilie replied slowly. "Would it occur to you that I have a lot on my mind right now?"
"Fine," Torrie answered back, offering her a quick smile, and Emilie smiled back. They approached the door the secretary told them to go to, as Emilie heard hurried laughter in the room.
"Can you knock?" Emilie asked her nervously, and Torrie responded by knocking. The door opened in a flourish to reveal Brian standing there, in a baseball cap, holding a soda, and a big smile on his face.
"Em! Hey!" Brian grinned. "Hi Torrie. Come on in! How was your flight?"
"Hi Bri," Emilie responded, stepping into the room, with Torrie following her. "The flight was okay. How are you?"
"Surviving," Brian replied, putting down his soda so he could give her a hug.
"Congratulations on your engagement," Emilie told him, and Brian thanked her. He moved over to talk with Torrie, as Emilie looked to see only Nick, Kevin, and Howie sitting at the table. She wondered where everyone else was.
"Hi Em!" Nick grinned at her, as he stood up to give her a hug. "What's up?"
"Hi Nick," Emilie smiled back. "Nothing much. What's up with you? Hi Kev! Hey Howie! How are you?"
"Good thanks Hun," Howie told her, as he motioned her and Torrie to sit down. "Want some pizza?"
"Sure!" Torrie smiled, sitting down near Kevin. "I'm really hungry right now."
"Where's AJ?" Kevin wanted to know, as he took another slice of pizza.
"He's talking with Amanda after he almost killed us," Torrie responded, taking a bite of her pizza.
"What do you mean?" Nick asked her, and Emilie shook her head.
"It's nothing!" Emilie replied, opening the can of soda Brian had gotten for her.
"Emilie, why are you always defending AJ?" Torrie asked, glancing at her friend. Emilie looked up, surprised at the question.
"I'm not always defending AJ," Emilie replied quickly. "Why do you say that Torrie?"
"Well, it was his fault we almost got into an accident with the tanker truck," Torrie reminded her.
"It's over now Torrie," Emilie replied. "Get over it."
"Whatever," Torrie commented, as the guys exchanged Looks. Emilie felt horrible, but she wondered why Torrie was even asking her those questions.
"Want to see your dress?" Kevin asked, standing up. "It's in the other room."
"Okay," Emilie agreed, and she followed Kevin into the other room.
"What's wrong with Emilie?" Nick quizzed Torrie, as soon as Kevin and her were gone.
"I know exactly what's wrong and I haven't told Emilie yet," Torrie replied. "I don't know how to tell her."
"What's wrong?" Brian wanted to know, as Torrie looked over to make sure that the door was completely shut before proceeding.
"It's Drew," Torrie explained, sipping her soda. "I see him with Billie all the time. Once, I saw them at the mall, so I decided to follow them, and I ran into them kissing in the food court. It's all over residence that they together, and nobody has had the guts to Tell Emilie. I screamed at Drew and Billie that day at the mall, but they threatened me. I can't tell Emilie. If I tell her, they said they were going to tell my psychology professor that I cheated on my essay, and I'll be kicked out of school."
"Why did you cheat?" Nick asked, a little disgusted.
"Because I had no choice," Torrie snapped back. "That's none of your business anyway."
"Wait, so Drew is playing Emilie?" AJ commented, as he came through the door with Amanda. "What a bastard!"
"AJ, yes," Torrie replied. "I saw them making out at the mall the other day."
"Did you tell Emilie?" Amanda asked, sitting down beside her.
"I can't," Torrie answered, not wanting to divulge her secret to either AJ or Amanda.
"Well, I will," AJ volunteered. "I hate that ass anyway. I'll tell him where to go."
"You can't tell her," Nick told AJ. "She will be really upset, and Emilie doesn't need that right now."
"She deserves to know what he is all about," Howie told Nick. "It's for Emilie's own interest anyway."
"What's for my own interest?" Emilie asked, smiling, as she came into the room in her gown. The gown had spaghetti straps, and then cascaded into a baby blue ballerina skirt that puffy and flowing. The bodice was decorated with white flowers and she had on fake glass slippers.
"You look so beautiful Em!" Amanda shrieked, standing up to hug her. "I love it!"
"Thanks," Emilie hugged her back. "I feel like a princess."
"You are a princess," Nick winked at her, and she smiled back.
"I don't think I need any adjustments," Emilie told Kevin. "I'd better take this off."
"I'll help you!" Amanda agreed, and she left the room, closing the door.
"One word I have to say is, asshole," AJ commented, taking some pizza. "Why would he want to hurt her?"
"Drew's wrecked," Torrie replied. "So, it's up to you guys, to tell her."
"I'm not telling her," Nick shook his head, as his cell phone rang, and he checked the number. "It's Mandy. I have to go pick her up. Tell Em I'll see her later! Bye!" Nick left the room, while answering his phone, and headed down to his rented Jeep.
"Who's going to tell her?" Howie asked, as Kevin looked at them puzzled.
"Tell Emilie what?" Kevin wanted to know, sitting down.
"Tell her that Drew has been cheating on her with Billie," Torrie replied, and Kevin's eyebrows went up.
"Seriously?" Kevin replied, and Torrie nodded. "Damn. I thought he was a nice guy."
"Emilie's going to freak when she hears this one," Torrie told them. "First Nick, and now Drew. She's going to say that she wasn't worth having Drew around anyway and that she's ugly and fat, and no guy wants her."
"What do you mean, now Drew?" Emilie questioned, as she appeared at the door as Torrie said that.
"Nothing," Torrie replied quickly. "We were just discussing your boyfriends."
"Drew is not my boyfriend," Emilie replied. "Spill it Torrie. What is going on with Drew?"
"Nothing," Torrie lied once more, and Emilie looked deep into her brown eyes.
"Tell me Torrie!" Emilie insisted.
"Drew is cheating on you Emilie with Billie," AJ spoke up. "Torrie didn't want to tell you because Drew is threatening to tell the psyche prof that she cheated on her essay. It also has nothing to do with you. Drew's a player and he's been playing you since you met him."
"Drew? But he kissed me last night!" Emilie cried, as tears came to her eyes. "How could he do this to me?"
"Emilie, I was going to tell you," Torrie said softly, as tears came to her eyes.
"It's okay Torrie," Emilie told her, and she suddenly looked up. "Wait a minute, why am I crying?"
"Because you are upset and this is a big shock?" Brian responded, and Emilie shook her head.
"No, wait," Emilie exclaimed. "I haven't gone out with him yet, so I'll just tell the asshole that I don't think we are compatible. You see, then, I don't have to worry about the ass, and Torrie won't get in trouble."
"But, aren't you upset?" Torrie asked, puzzled by her friend's sudden happiness.
"I'm upset, but I know I don't need someone like him in my life," Emilie answered. "Look, I deserve much better. I deserve someone who loves just me, and not everyone else. And besides, if he's with Billie, then that just shows he has no taste."
"Emilie, this is a first!" AJ smiled at her. "Where did this confidence come from Hun?"
"A close guy friend I have made the last few months," Emilie told them. "His name is Christian and we've been talking about everything. He's really helped me a lot." She saw AJ look at her with surprised eyes, but there was hurt sown into them.
"Didn't I help you at all?" AJ asked, concerned.
"Of course you did!" Emilie insisted, as she went over to give him a hug. "You helped me more then anyone AJ. I didn't mean for it to sound like that. I'm sorry."
"So, who's this guy?" Kevin wanted to know, smiling at her.
"He's a performer," Emilie informed them. "I met him at one of his shows."
"What kind of performing does he do?" AJ teased her, and she smiled at him.
"He's in a pop group, sort of," Emilie answered, taking a sip of her soda, as her cell phone began ringing. She looked at the number and saw Drew's cell phone flash across the screen.
"Who is it?" Torrie asked her.
"It's Drew," Emilie replied, nervously. She didn't know whether to pick it up or let it rang. She decided to get it over with and she answered it. "Hello?"
"Em! Hey!" Drew told her. "How are you?"
"Fine," Emilie replied cheerfully. "How are YOU?"
"Wonderful, just wonderful," Drew said. "I was just thinking about our kiss last night. It was awesome."
"Oh, you thought so?" Emilie replied. "It was okay. I mean, I've had better."
"Oh really?" Drew snapped back. "With who exactly?"
"Oh, you know, Nick, John, Arthur, Paul, and Steve," Emilie answered. "I saw Paul right after last night. Didn't you know I was a player Drew?"
"Actually, I didn't," Drew sighed.
"Well, I guess I should tell you Drew," Emilie began. "I have a few other guys on the side. I hope you understand that."
"I have some other females on the side as well," Drew admitted, smiling. "Maybe we can hook up sometime."
"Actually Drew, you aren't my type," Emilie lied. "I mean, I think we can be friends, but I don't want anymore with you."
"That's fine with me," Drew sighed with relief. "Maybe I'll see you soon."
"Maybe," Emilie tried not to laugh, and she hung the phone up.
"You are a player?" Kevin raised his eyebrows, and Emilie shook her head.
"Look, I'm sick of people hurting me," Emilie told him. "That ass was trying to hurt Torrie and I don't want him hurting anyone close with me. He's such a loser. I can do much better."
"That's the spirit!" Brian encouraged her, as they all stood up. "So, what's everyone's plans for the rest of the day?"
"Kristen and I got a date," Kevin replied, grinning.
"Oh Kev!" Emilie spoke up. "Congratulations on your engagement!"
"Thanks," Kevin grinned at her, as he grabbed his leather jacket. "Well guys, I have to go meet Kristen and a few of our friends, so I will talk to you all tomorrow. Remember, six am sharp at the Magic Kingdom."
"We'll be there," Brian promised, and Kevin left. "I have to go now as well. LeighAnne and I have to take Tyke and Tinka to the vet for a check-up, and then we're going to head over to see 'Erin Brockovitch'!"
"That movie is awesome," Torrie told him. "You guys will love it!"
"Great, I'm looking forward to seeing it," Brian smiled, and he waved, leaving the room.
"Emilie? Torrie? What are you guys doing tonight?" Howie wanted to know, as them, as well as AJ and Amanda headed towards the elevator.
"Unpacking," Torrie replied. "I packed so much stuff!"
"How about we all go get a bite to eat?" AJ suggested. "After you pack of course!"
"Sure," Emilie agreed. "Where do you want to go?"
"How about the Rainforest Cafe?" Amanda suggested, as they got onto the elevator. "I went there a few weeks ago with Veronica, Danay, and Jenny. I haven't seen them in a while."
"Okay!" Torrie agreed. "Why don't you guys invite Nick and Mandy?"
"Sure," AJ nodded. "I'll call them on my cell in the car. Em, where does Christian live?"
"Hamilton," Emilie replied. "I'm going to see him next weekend."
"How come I never heard about him?" Torrie wanted to know, as they climbed into the back of AJ's Jeep.
"Because I didn't really tell anyone," Emilie answered honestly, as she settled down in the seat. "Besides, I wasn't really sure what was going on with us."
"Best friends tell everyone everything," Torrie muttered, annoyed, but also a little sad.
"Torrie, we aren't best friends," Emilie replied. "I have barely known you a few months. How can we be best friends?"
"Whatever," Torrie commented, and she looked out the window. AJ felt the tension between the two friends, as he climbed into the driver's side. He glanced back at them, also aware of the tension that Torrie felt towards him because he almost got into the accident. Amanda was quiet as well. He wondered if going for dinner was even a good idea.
He drove them to his stylish beach front condo, and pulled up the security gate. Amanda lived a few miles away in her parents luxurious home, but it really felt like she lived with AJ and his mom. He pulled into his garage, beside his silver Jaguar, and turned off the engine. He retreated back to take out the luggage, as Emilie, Torrie, and Amanda climbed out of the door. Emilie and Amanda immediately headed back to help with the luggage, while Torrie retreated into the unlocked door. He felt a little odd at her persistence to go right into his house, but let the feeling slide.
"Torrie does have a lot of baggage," Amanda commented, taking out Torrie's last bag. "She should be bringing it in herself."
"I agree," AJ nodded slightly, but no further comments were made. Emilie followed them in, to see Torrie chatting it up with Mrs. McLean.
"Hi Denise!" Emilie smiled, as she gave her a hug. "Thanks so much for allowing Torrie and I stay here. I really appreciate. I hope we won't be that much of a bother."
"You aren't," Denise winked at her. "It's great to have some guests around her for a while! I miss all the noise since AJ is always gone, and so am I."
"It's nice to have some time off," AJ commented, as he put down the luggage, and retreated to petting his beloved dogs, Panda and Bear. "I finally feel like I have a normal life for a change."
"So, what are you children doing this evening?" Mrs. McLean wanted to know, as she put on the kettle to make some tea.
"We're going out for dinner Mom," AJ replied. "The Rainforest Cafe actually."
"Oh, that sounds like fun," Mrs. McLean smiled at them warmly. "AJ, why don't you show Torrie and Emilie their rooms?"
"Okay," AJ agreed. "Follow me this way, miladies!" Emilie giggled, as they both followed him up the stairs towards the five bedrooms that laid out the top floor.
"Do I get my own room?" Torrie wanted to know. "Emilie snores and I can't sleep at night."
"Yes," AJ nodded, pointing towards two rooms. "You can choose which one you want."
"This one," Torrie commented, and she streamed through the door, and collapsed on the bed.
"Thanks AJ," Emilie smiled at him, as she took the other room. "I'll just freshen up and be right down."
"No prob Em," AJ winked at her, and he left them alone.
Emilie shut the door behind her, and put her small suitcase on the bed. She took a sleeveless sundress that was lavender and had small daisies imprinted all over it. She took a quick shower, dried her hair, curled it, did her make-up, and put the dress on. She was done in a few moments, and walked out at the same time as Torrie. Torrie was wearing jeans and a tank top, and had her hair pulled back in some butterfly clips.
"Going somewhere?" Torrie teased her, as they walked down the stairs.
"I wanted to dress up," Emilie defended herself. "I never get to at school."
"Oh," was all Torrie said, and they walked into the kitchen.
Mrs. McLean, Amanda, and AJ were settled around the table, talking, eating sourdough cookies, and drinking some lemon-flavored tea.
"Girls, you look adorable!" Mrs. McLean smiled at them. "Would you like some tea?"
"Thanks," Emilie smiled back. "I would love some tea as well. That sounds great. Thanks."
"No thanks on the tea," Torrie replied, leaning against the kitchen counter. "AJ, did you call Nick?"
"Yeah," AJ replied. "He's coming, but Mandy can't because she has a dance rehearsal."
"Oh," Torrie said again, as she took a cookie. "Don't you guys think Emilie dressed up a little too much?"
"I think she looks nice," Amanda defended her. "I'm going to dress up too. Don't worry Em."
"So, we have to go to your house and wait for you to get ready?" Torrie wondered, and Amanda looked at her.
"Yes, do you mind?" Amanda snapped back, and Torrie rolled her eyes.
"Isn't that a little unfair considering that Emilie and I are guests here?" Torrie replied, avoiding Amanda's eyes.
"I don't mind at all actually," Emilie told Amanda.
"You are just happy that Nick's coming," Torrie told Emilie. "Now, you can make a move."
"What?" Emilie said to Torrie. "I have no intentions of making any moves on Nick. He's my friend and I like Mandy, and I think they are great together. What are you talking about anyway?"
"Can't you take a joke?" Torrie teased her, as she took another cookie.
"I didn't really find it funny," AJ told her, standing up. "I think we should be going. Em, Panda, you guys ready?"
"Here, I'll put your tea in a foam cup," Mrs. McLean told Emilie, and she poured it, and handed it to Emilie.
"Thanks Mrs. McLean for everything," Emilie took the cup, and sipped it. "It's delicious."
"We're all ready, but we'd better hurry," Torrie told them, as she streamed out the door. "Amanda will probably take a long time and make us late for Howie and Nick."
"Can I smack her now?" Amanda muttered, as soon as Torrie was through the door.
"Keep the peace Panda," AJ told her, and they walked into the garage.
Amanda rolled her eyes, and they all got into AJ's car, and drove off to Amanda's house, so she could get ready...

*Hey everyone! :)
Okay, you're probably wondering what happened to me, while I have been extremely busy. I know people have been e-mailing me, but I haven't had time to return your e-mails. I apologize, but I do read everyone I receive.
This chapter is quite uneventful. I don't really know what is going on. Drew's gone. :) Nobody liked him anyway. He was a bit of a pushover. The new guy Christian is actually based on this guy I know in real life. He's a major sweetheart.
I don't know what's going to happen. Send me your suggestions. Thanks and good luck to everyone writing finals!
Bye*
