Then and Now Chapter 25 Ang drove along the highway singing along to the radio. She saw Han look at her out of the corner of her eye. Ang reached over and turned the radio down as Quit Playing Games started. "So Han..." she started. Han glanced at Ang. "So Ang, we're going for ice huh?" she asked seeing the Kentucky scenery rush by her. "Yeah ice, probably some drinks." Han nodded, having no real idea what to say. "You and Brian are together now huh?" Ang asked as they pulled into the store's parking lot. "Yeah." Han answered, "Is that ok?" Ang opened her truck door. "Of course. Look Han I'm okay with everything." Han smiled with relief. "Good." Ang laughed. "I'm sorry about before...the way I acted and all." she said as they walked inside the small store. The bell overhead chimed as the door opened all the way. "Now ice would be..." Han said looking around the small store seeing everything imaginable but ice. "Can I help you?" A voice asked from behind them. "Ice?" Han asked. "And drinks...probably more chips, knowing the way those boys eat we'll be lucky if they left us crackers somewhere." Ang laughed. The girl nodded and showed them where everything was and shortly after they were back on their way to the cabin.AJ sat down next to Krys on the deck stairs. "Kryssie, An idea." Krys looked at him in surprise. "I all ready told you, no matching tattoos." He shook his head. "No, nothing really creative. I thought since we are in the wilderness here we should go on a hike tomorrow." "Wilderness? This is Kentucky Bone, not the Amazon." she joked, taking a drink of her water. "Oh hardy har har Krys." AJ looked out at the yard. "Come on please?" Krys played with the water bottle in her hands. "Fine, if your so into wanting to hiking we'll go. But I swear AJ if you wake me up at 7 to go and just want to walk into town for the nearest McDonald's so help you..." "I swear no Mickey D's, I didn't even know there was one nearby." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Now what do you say we go find that hammock D was talking about?" "I say it sounds like a plan." Brian stretched his legs out in front of him in the grass and looked around. "How long does going for ice take?" "Remember Frick, their females, takes them forever to do anything." Nick stated, resting his hands behind his head and leaning back in the grass. Bri shook his head. "No wonder you can't keep a girl." Nick sighed. "I swear Rok, if I had something to throw at you I would for that remark. Now we should talk about this trip tomorrow." "Ok, we should leave early so we can get there at a decent time." "You got a place in mind?" Nick asked, twirling a blade of grass in his fingers. "Yeah there's a nice place about an hour or so from here. We could hike there and then spend the rest of the day at the lake or wherever." "So basically, we split up." Nick said, a smile on his face. "Yeah pretty much." Brian said with a laugh. "You don't mind?" "I'm broken up over the whole thing Rok, you don't want spend time with me." Nick said pretending to wipe away tears. "But I can deal cuz the lovely Lissy will be with me." he said seeing her walk towards him, burger in hand. "I heard my name, Bri should I be afraid?" she asked as she kneeled down. "Nah, its Nick what bad things could he say." Rok stated, trying to keep a straight face Lis rolled her eyes. "No wonder you two are best friends." The guys just smiled and hifived each other. "Your exactly alike." Nick looked at her. "You say that like its a bad thing." Jenn and Aimee walked out of the house, carrying another tray of food when Ang and Hannah walked through the back gate. "We're back!" Ang yelled. D leaned over the railing, "Thanks for the announcement." She smiled up at him. "Hey no prob D, thought ya'd liked to know." D laughed. "Trust me Ang, it made my night." She smiled. "Glad to help ya out there D." Ang turned to Han who was trying to balance the two cases of drinks. "Should we put this stuff down?" "Good idea." and so they headed inside. Rok saw Han walk inside the guys' cabin. "Yahoo Han's back." Nick and Lis exchanged looks. "Did he just yahoo?" Lis asked, trying not to laugh. "I believe he did." Nick answered, staring at his best friend. "Rok, man you just said yahoo." Brian stood up. "So? Nothing wrong with that, now if you'll excuse me I'll leave you two to your grass antics and I'm gonna go see my girl." Nick smirked. "Good idea, I always enjoy being in the grass with my Lissy." Lis moved away from Nick. "Maybe I'll go to." "Stay here with nick, trust me if you don't he'll get worse." Bri advised as he walked away. Kev took the two cases of drinks from Han who gave him a grateful look. "There ya go. How was the trip for ice?" "Long!" Ang said, putting the two bags of ice in the freezer. "There was an accident on the highway back, if we'd left earlier we would have been in it" "Glad you weren't." Kev said, taking a few drinks out of one case. "Anyways, me and Nina are heading down to the beach. Later gals." "Bye Kev." they said in unison. Brian passed his cousin in the doorway. "Hi ladies. Can I get a drink?" "Help yourself, we got tons." Ang smiled at him, "Well I'm going to grab some grub before there isn't any." and with that she left the couple alone. "Hey Han." Rok said, walking up behind her. "Hi Bri. How's it going?" "Fine." he wrapped his arms around her waist, "Better now that you're back." "Oh really?" she turned around and smiled at him. "You sure about that?" "Very sure." he said looking into her eyes and kissing her gently. AJ and Krys stood in the doorway. "Awww ain't that cute?" AJ whispered to his girlfriend. "Quiet Bone, they'll hear you. Don't you dare ruin this moment for them." Krys whispered. AJ shrugged and looked back at the kissing couple, "Heck if we don't want to ruin this..." he said, pulling Krys to him. "AJ McLean what..." she started but couldn't go on because he started kissing her. D looked towards the door. "Oh no..." "What?" Jenn asked, her eyes on the sunset. "We've got two sets of kissing couples over there." he said, shaking his head. Jenn looked over and laughed softly. "Let them be Howie." Next: Chapter 26 |
