Chapter 1

It was one of those sickeningly bright afternoons. It was late June, and school had been out for a few weeks. Everyone was way too happy and it was making me sick.

I was hiding out up in my room from the world for as long as I could. I blocked out the light from coming in my windows with the heavy winter blankets from my bed. I sat in the space between my dresser and the foot of my bed out of habit, thinking.

The world was working against me and, even worse, everyone else's day was going great. I frowned as I heard my dad and step-mother leave for the umpteenth time without telling me. "I feel loved," I muttered under my breath bitterly. I thought back to why I was in this state today and felt the anger boil in my blood.

Me and my friend, Krystal, were going to do something when she decided she rather do something with her boy friend. I then had tried my other friend, Gerry, but she wasn't home either. Then, I called my older brother, Justin, for someone to talk to. He just put me on hold until I hung up. The fact that my dad was ignoring me wasn't helping my mood any either. What? I didn't matter any more??

In anger, I stood up and grabbed my fully packed back-pack and slung it over my shoulder. I had been sitting on the floor silently awaiting everyone to leave so I could make my escape. I had everything i'd need. Clothes, food for a week, $700 from the bank, and things I didn't go anywhere with out.

Something was calling me. Telling me I had to be some place else. I didn't belong here. I was somebody of importance, and I was needed. At that time I had no idea of the circumstances I would behold for my actions that day. It was the worst and best thing for me to have ever done in my life time.
